The Forest Museum There's no better place to learn about our community's history than Forest Museum! Forest Museum is located in the old Forest Home Bakery on Main St.

You are invited to drop by and step back in time to explore the history of our community. Our displays feature topics such as the Forest Excelsior Band (the longest running civilian band in Canada), the Grand Trunk Railway, doctors of Forest, local businesses, churches and schools, agriculture and much more. Whether you are an occasional visitor to Forest, or you walk its streets everyday, please come and enjoy the history of our beautiful town. Our museum is a registered charity proudly associated with Donate A Car Canada. If you have a vehicle you no longer need, please consider supporting us by clicking on https://sites.google.com/view/forest-museum/donationssponsorships

Donate a Car Canada processes vehicle donations for any charity in Canada. Donated vehicles are re-sold or recycled and the net proceeds from either process are sent to the donor's charity of choice. The donor receives a tax receipt. Vehicles can be donated online (www.donatecar.ca), or over the phone (1-877-250-4904). The tow is always free!

We have a mystery. Maybe you can help us solve it... Today a representative from the Lambton Heritage Museum brought to us a box full of little wood veneer trays that were made at the Forest Basket Factory. Two of these trays are shown in the photo, along with one of the hundreds of envelopes from the factory that are in our collection. What is the mystery? Well the records of the LHM indicate that these trays were called "peanut butter trays" by the donor. What we can't figure out is why and where peanut butter would have been served up in trays like this. Do you know? If you do, we would be very glad to hear from you! By the way, the factory was in operation from 1911 to 1981, just to the east of where the Forest Fairgrounds are located.
