Urging everyone to stay home if you can, and stay safe if you can’t!
Thank you to all our road crews who work tirelessly in these conditions

Due to the current and forecasted weather conditions, the County of Lambton has declared a significant weather event, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on February 7, 2026
News release:https://www.lambtononline.ca/en/news/news-release-county-of-lambton-declares-significant-weather-event.aspx

This declaration is to notify the public that due to the current or anticipated weather conditions, extreme caution is to be exercised when travelling on County of Lambton roads, and that it may take longer than usual to clear roads and bring them back to normal conditions.

Currently, Highway 402, both ways, and additional roads in the County are closed until further notice. More to follow on road closures.

The alarm stayed quiet, the bus stayed away,
A message popped up: “Snow day today!”
Pajamas till noon, hot cocoa in hand,
Homework forgotten—this wasn’t the plan.

Snow days are fun, but they come with a cost:
The sidewalks were buried, the hydrants were lost.
So boots were pulled on and mittens were found,
“Congrats,” said the grown-ups, “you’re helping the town.”

Out they marched with shovels too big,
Tell Lambton Shores there’s no need for their rigs.
They chipped and they scraped till what could be seen?
A fire hydrant! Emerging from the white winter sheen.

Snow flew everywhere, cheeks rosy and red,
“Way better than math!” one kid happily said.
Even closed classrooms can still teach a way,
To help out the community, and brighten the day!

🚒❄️☕️

Please consider clearing your neighborhood hydrant IF SAFE to do so!
Seconds save lives
