PUBLIC NOTICE: ROAD CLOSURE – KING STREET WEST, FOREST 🚧
The Lambton Film and Food Festival will take place from May 28–31 in downtown Forest. This exciting community event is being organized by the Kiwanis Club of Forest, with support from the Optimist Club, the Forest Firemen’s Association, and the Lambton Film and Food Festival Committee.
📍 Road Closure Details
King Street West will be closed from James Street to Main Street:

Closure begins: Thursday, May 28 at 6:00 PM

Reopens: Sunday, May 31 by 10:00 AM

Barricades will be placed at both ends of the street

Volunteers will be stationed at entry points to assist vendors

Emergency access will be maintained at all times

Youth film competition screenings and awards (Thursday evening)

8 films featured throughout the weekend

Street festival with live entertainment

Artisan market

Children’s Chalk Art Fest

Licensed street events and patio

Hosted with support from the Forest Firemen’s Association as a fundraiser

Enter at: King St. & Main St.

Security measures will include volunteer personnel at entry points and paid security onsite. All required site and emergency plans have been submitted to Municipality of Lambton Shores.

As we crest just inside a month before our second annual two pitch tournament we would like to thank Tim Hortons in Forest for their support at last years tournament.

Today we celebrate the moms who do it all.

To the mothers in our community—thank you. Thank you for the endless love, sacrifices, strength, patience, and care you give every single day. Whether at home, at work, on the sidelines, in the stands, or quietly behind the scenes, your impact is felt everywhere. Communities like ours are stronger because of mothers. ❤️

We also want to recognize the two incredible moms on our department. Being a firefighter already means answering the call at all hours, missing family time, and putting others first. Doing that while also being a mother takes a truly special kind of strength. Your dedication to both your families and this community does not go unnoticed, and we are proud to serve alongside you.

From all of us, Happy Mother’s Day to every mom, stepmom, grandmother, foster mom, and mother figure in our community. Thank you for all that you do. 🚒❤️

On May 9th, let’s come together at the Forest Legion to welcome home one of our own, hometown inspiration Tyler McGregor. 💙

From 1:45 PM – 2:00 PM, Tyler and his family will be escorted along MacDonald & Albert Street starting near Kinnwood. Let’s line the streets, stand shoulder to shoulder, and show what it truly means to be part of this community.

This is more than a welcome—it’s a chance to celebrate perseverance, pride, and the strength of where we come from.

Let’s fill the route with support, respect, and hometown pride as we give Tyler the welcome he deserves. 🙌

A huge thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Forest Ontario for generously donating the ice for our Annual Charity Hockey Game on April 24th.

Time and time again, we’re reminded just how special our small community of Forest truly is. Organizations and businesses like the Kiwanis Club of Forest Ontario continually step up to support local events and causes, helping us give even more back to the community.

The Kiwanis Club of Forest Ontario does so much behind the scenes to make our community a better place, and they’re always looking for new members with fresh ideas and a passion for helping others. If you have some spare time and want to make a difference locally, consider joining the Kiwanis Club and becoming part of the amazing work they do throughout our community.

Last weekend was about more than just hockey and ringette—it was about a community coming together for something truly meaningful. From the players on the ice to the fans in the stands, everyone played a role in making it a day to remember. In the end, the scoreboard didn’t matter—we all came out on top.

Thanks to your incredible support, we raised $928 for The Kaeden Brown Foundation. This wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and spirit of our community.

A big thank you to the Forest Xtreme Ringette Women of the Rink for sharing the ice with us and being part of such a special event.

And another shoutout to the Lambton Shores Predators Minor Hockey U13A and Forest Xtreme U14A teams for keeping the energy high during intermission—and giving us seasoned skaters a well-earned breather!
