On June 6, 1944, Canada took its place in one of the most significant military operations in history: the Allied invasion of Normandy, known as D‑Day. For Canadians, D‑Day represents courage, sacrifice, and a defining moment in the fight to liberate Europe from N**i occupation.

Eighty‑two years ago today, young Canadians stepped onto a cold, hostile shore in Normandy knowing full well what waited for them — and they went anyway. The surf was rough, the enemy was dug in, and the cost would be staggering. Yet they advanced with a resolve that helped turn the tide of the Second World War.D‑Day is more than a chapter in a history book. It is a moment when ordinary Canadians showed extraordinary courage, carrying the hopes of a nation across the Channel and into the fight for freedom. Their actions on Juno Beach, in the air, and behind enemy lines shaped the world we live in today.

🇨🇦 D‑Day is not just a date on the calendar. It is a reminder of the bravery of ordinary Canadians who faced extraordinary danger so that freedom could prevail.

We are having a special speaker coming to our regular Coffee Club (usually closed to Veterans only). The event is open to all seniors or caregivers of seniors. Our guess will be addressing the subject of Awareness of Seniors falling.

The Branch will be open at 10:00 until 12:00ish. Coffee and muffins will be available (no cost)
