This year, EMSA South is excited to continue offering a program for second-year U7 (2019 born) boys and girls: Selects NEXT. This program is designed to support young players and coaches as they transition into the Selects FC Premier Club Program.

What is Selects FC: Selects FC is EMSA South’s club program for players U8 and up. 2018 players MUST be registered in Outdoor Soccer as well. These players compete in city-wide league matches and also against teams from Spruce Grove, St. Albert, and Sherwood Park. Selects FC offers additional training and development opportunities. About the Selects NEXT Program: Players can register for Selects NEXT a season before moving from U7 to U8. The program includes 8 training sessions with Certified Selects FC Trainers from May to July for $200. Players will still play with their community teams while receiving Selects NEXT training. Participants will also receive a free training shirt.
Selects Next training will run on Friday evenings at St. Richard School from May 8 – June 26. We will offer July 3 and 10 as rain out days.

Coaching Focus: Selects NEXT coaches will focus on tactics, session delivery, match management, and fundamental skills.

How to Join: Players may be invited to join Selects NEXT, or parents can sign up during the registration process if interested. You’ll be asked for player jersey size at this time as well.

Next Steps: Players who participate in Selects NEXT will move forward as a team when they enter Premier Club in U8, already familiar with their coach and teammates.

Please note that playing club soccer with Selects FC involves higher costs and greater commitment compared to community soccer; Selects FC Teams are typically on the field 3-4 times a week with coach-led practices, technical sessions, and EMSA matches.

LAST CALL FOR SELECTS FC COMPETITIVE PLAYER PLACEMENT SESSIONS! Whether you attended our first round of competitive sessions or not, we invite you to come show off your skills at our final round on March 25! The final sessions are held at the Edmonton Soccer Dome, please arrive at least 20 minutes early, with shin guards, and proper foot wear. We cant wait to see you all there!
