PEOPLE POWERED PARTIES IS A BIKE POWERED ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM THAT USES COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION TO POWER DJs, CONCERTS, MOVIES, AND CUSTOM EVENTS. Our mission at People Powered Parties was born out of producing over 50 community and environmental productions and awareness campaigns that were aimed at engaging and inspiring Alberta. During one of our brainstorming sessions a question popped up, “Ca
n we power a concert by bikes?” When the idea of powering events with COLLECTIVE COMMUNITY ACTION began to take shape; no other event seemed interesting. Doable (hours of strategizing and phone calls follow), check! Over the last two years, we have diligently been constructing a stable path so you can comfortably join us on the othe side! In 2011, we brought people powered parties to over 7000 EVENT GOERS and participants in Alberta, who produced 13,200 WATT HOURS building an energetic vibe for each event. Since inception, we have coproduced almost 30 People Powered events; CYCLING EVENTS, FUNDRAISERS, MUSIC FESTIVALS, ENVIRONMENTAL DEMOS, AND CUSTOM EVENTS. Consequently, we have developed a cutting-edge process that explores the full potential of an off-the-grid bike-powered system. From getting people on the bikes to keeping them talking after, we have put everything into taking your People Powered Party to the next level.
