Lion Karl Miu of Edmonton Chinese Lions Club shares the grief of the twin club, Lions Club of The Peak Hong Kong, on the passing away of Natalie Ng Man-yan, an actress and former Miss Hong Kong, on Tuesday, June 9. The 51-year-old entertainment celebrity shared that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, regularly updating her social media followers about her fight with the disease and her treatment plan. She had earned her reputation of a “cancer warrior” in social media.

Ms. Natalie Ng has been a friend of Lions Clubs. She volunteered as Master of Ceremony twice at the events of Lions Club of The Peak Hong Kong and partnered with Lion Karl Miu, who was then the past president of Lions Club of The Peak. Natalie had also offered her assistance in one of the fundraising projects.

ECLC wishes to express its heartfelt condolence to Natalie’s two young daughters and her family. May they find strength and comfort, and may we all be reminded to cherish our loved ones while we can.

Rest in peace, Natalie.

2026.06.07 The 5KM Walkathon with Edmonton Chinese Lions Club as Event Sponsor had been a great success. Lions arrived early to prepare for the food station where ECLC gave out free hotdogs and bottled water to patrons of the walkathon.

The Walkathon was a fundraising event for the cost of upgrading the Edmonton Chinese Senior Lodge facility and improving its services. It was organized by the Greater Edmonton Chinese Community Foundation.

The event was held in Hawrelak Park, where the generous donors engaged in the walk under the sunny sky, viewed the exciting lions dance and consumed the delicious hotdogs. It had been a great event for charity as well as for fellowship.

ECLC also donated the remaining hotdogs and water to the Edmonton Chinese Senior Lodge.
