Introducing our Lead Artist for our World Dance Day Celebration !

Rayanne

Rayanne Fawaz is a choreographer, performer, and dance researcher originally from Lebanon, currently based between Montreal and Beirut. Trained in classical ballet in Beirut, she later turned toward professional dance, developing a practice that explores memory, migration, and Levantine dance forms, especially dabke. Her work approaches tradition as a living material, weaving together oral archives, everyday gestures, and community dances.

Sofia El Iraki is a multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal, working as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Founder of Mayuraa Dance School, she specializes in Indian dance while cultivating a versatile practice shaped by her training between Morocco, India, and Canada. Her passion for transmission, storytelling, and creating meaningful connections across cultures guides both her artistic work and her teaching.

Introducing our Lead Artist for our World Dance Day Celebration !

Lakshya

Lakshya is a Secondary 2 student at Collège St. Anne. She began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 4, building a strong foundation in classical dance.
Over the past three years, she has developed a deep interest in K-pop, dedicating her time to learning and choreographing in this style independently.
As part of the World Dance Day celebration, Lakshya is excited to share her journey and passion for K-pop with the audience.

Introducing our Lead Artist for our World Dance Day Celebration !

Aishwarya Nair

Aishwarya Nair began training in Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form, at the age of four. She holds a doctorate in Educational Psychology from McGill University and currently works as a Pedagogical Counsellor at Vanier College.
In 2023, she began studying tap dance, drawn to its rhythmic parallels with Bharatanatyam, and has since continued to train and perform at college events. She looks forward to sharing a short choreography with fellow dancers at the World Dance Day event.
