Boating while impaired by alcohol or drugs is never safe.

It slows your reaction time, affects balance, and increases the risk of serious or even fatal collisions. It’s also illegal.

Boat safe this season, stay sober at the helm.

Boating and impairment never mix.

Alcohol, cannabis, prescription medications, and other drugs can affect judgment, balance, reaction time, and decision-making on the water.

Sun, wind, waves, vibration, and dehydration can also increase the effects of impairment while boating.

Boating sober helps protect:
βœ” You
βœ” Your passengers
βœ” Other boaters
βœ” First responders

Impaired boating is dangerous and illegal.

If you plan to consume alcohol or drugs, make a safe plan and stay off the helm.

Boat smart. Boat sober.
