Docs4GreatApes We promote the "One Health" concept linking the health of animals, humans, and the environment

Docs4GreatApes is an organization founded by concerned health care professionals, determined to make a difference through education. Our vision is a world community that is passionate about improving the health of Great Ape populations, the communities that surround them, and the ecosystem that we share. OUR MISSION
To bring that vision to reality:

- We increase awareness of the issues facing cri

tically endangered species and their habitat
- We promote the "One Health" concept linking the health of animals, humans, and the environment
- We connect people, ideas, and resources to deliver medical education to expand veterinary and human healthcare capacity

REAL HELP IS ALREADY ON THE GROUND NOW—AND WE’VE BEEN PART OF IT. In 2016, Docs4GreatApes answered a call to top up scholarship funding provided by the Houston Zoo for training wildlife veterinarians in East Africa. The Wildlife ConserVet Education Project grew out of our experience sponsoring three outstanding African veterinarians as they faced the challenge of completing their Master of Science in Wildlife Health Management degree programs. ConserVet now provides scholarships for tuition and living expenses for clinical internship as well as Master's degree programmes. Please consider donating to the Mike Cranfield ConserVet Scholarship to continue his legacy with the mountain gorillas.

As the year comes to a close, we wanted to pause- not just to celebrate what’s ahead but to reflect on what you helped make possible.

This year, because of our community, two new wildlife veterinarians from Uganda and Tanzania began advanced training through the support of our ConserVet Education Project.
Our board grew stronger with the addition of three new members bringing a variety of expertise and leadership.
The quiet steady work of protecting wildlife and supporting those on the front lines continued.

We’ve said it before and it bears repeating: we’re often better at doing the work than talking about the work. But tonight, before the calendar turns, we wanted you to know how deeply grateful we are.

If you’re in a position to give before the year ends, a donation tonight helps us begin the new year ready to support more students, strengthen conservation partnerships and continue advocating for the animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Thank you for being part of this mission - this year and into the next.

Today, on World Orangutan Day, we at Docs4GreatApes are reminded of the incredible intelligence, grace, and resilience of these magnificent creatures.

Orangutans, our close relatives, share 97% of our DNA, yet they face the grave threat of extinction due to habitat loss, poaching, and the illegal pet trade.

At Docs4GreatApes, we are committed to safeguarding their future through education and conservation. But we can’t do it alone. Your support is crucial in helping us protect these gentle giants and their natural habitats.

Join us in taking a stand today—because when we protect orangutans, we protect our planet too.
