When folks work together- good stuff gets to happen ❤️.

Meet 10 year old Gladice.

And yep- she is always this happy. She's a gem!

Yet somehow found herself in an Ontario shelter as an unclaimed stray in need of a little help.

The shelter sent us a few photos (this is one of them)- and in every photo it's like it's the best day ever for her 😆.

Shout outs to the great care she recieved in shelter which included cutting those super long nails you can see in this photo as well as providing her initial vaccines and spaying her too.

We'll handle the rest of the needed vet care and then get her into a new home just as soon as we can.

Gladice is a doll. She loves life and loves belly rubs too. She's a catch!

This is my dog Olive. She's over 11 now. I've been lucky enough to be her dog lady for just over 2 years.

Sometimes she walks at a snail’s pace.

Sometimes she veers completely off track and smells the same thing for what feels like forever.

Sometimes she randomly stops.

Or doesn’t feel like walking at all, and the whole time is spent sniffing a tree. (Or I may end up working on those arm muscles because I have to carry her back lol.)

And sometimes, she remembers the puppy she wishes she got to be and gets the random slappy-pawed zoomies. ❤️

Sometimes the pace kills me. 😆

But then I remember… whose walk is it?

And slowing down? Moving in a different direction? Taking your time? Why is that a bad thing?

Slowing down can be beautiful.

So this walk isn’t about distance. Or pace. Or getting somewhere.

This walk is hers.

And it is an honour to slow down beside her, to follow where she wants to go, and to give her the time she never had before.

Because maybe that’s one of the greatest gifts we can give a senior dog…

Not asking them to keep up with us or fit into our own expectations.

But finally giving them the freedom to walk and simply be at their own pace.

To wander.

To be silly.

To just be an old dog.

And me? How lucky am I to get to walk alongside her. ❤️

Ooooooh it's time to celebrate 🥳!

The pups are flying out of here and into forevers around here. It makes my heart so very happy to know that just like us- you all know- SENIOR DOGS ROCK!

Joy aka the spicy pom- 6 years- thanks to your donations- her vetting was updated, and she had both a spay and a dental too.

Skarr- 10 years- your donations supported his vetting being brought up to date, specialized care via multiple vet visits and xrays, a neuter and a dental.

Bull- 10 years- your donations helped him with up to date vetting, a neuter and a dental.

Milkshake- 12 years- your donations brought him up to date vetting (she shelter he was in provided him with a neuter/dental).

Four more littles- off to a beautiful retirement chapter- because YOU help us to say YES.

Thank you for being the wonderful caring community that you are. Together we are changing and saving so many little lives.

Ok- sooooooo for a getting bigger & bigger handful of individuals out there- I'm putting a stop to things now.

And to those who meet us with patience and kindness. Thank you- very much ❤️.

This lovely boy is Yeti.

Yesterday morning at 7am I posted him for adoption & as expected we were flooded with applications for him.

Any 5 pound little white dog will get a TON of applications.

I left the applications OPEN to ANYONE until this morning at 630am.

There are sooooo many of them.

Amazing for Yeti.

However he is only one dog which means that sadly some people will not be moving forward with our process or selected for this dog.

Does this mean you are not an amazing person?

Heck no!

You are also most likely an AMAZING adopter.

Sending us an angry response back- most likely not the best way to go about this.

There are also some remarks on our posts around trying to complete an application & having difficulty.

Our website (where you filled out the app) says right on it- to email us. If you do- we'd be more than happy to help you out.

It also notes that if you haven't heard back in 72 hours to email us.

And lastly it also notes- all fields must be completed or it will not send. (Don't have a dog currently? Check off what you would do if you did or what you've done in the past or n/a is good for here as well. ( you can always email us for help too).

But again- instead of choosing to rant- a friendly email or even a comment of - can someone help me- will get you much further here.

We practice kindness.

We practice being helpful.

We practice second chances.

But we won't tolerate rudeness. That's just not cool.

These dogs actually belong to me (under the rescue). Sooooo, when someone is kinda mean- it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable & wonder where else short fuses may exist.

I know it can be frustrating sometimes. I've been in your shoes.

I too have filled out an app with another rescue & been unsuccessful.

I had even adopted from this rescue THREE other times in the past. With this dog, they just went in another direction- which I trust was absolutely the best decision for that dog.

But did a respond with rudeness. Nope.

And later on- I DID find my best fit match. And my Olive- she's become one of my very best friends.

So listen- yours- it's out there too.

It may take a bit of time. But they're out there. You just haven't met them yet.

When working with a rescue who is completely full of volunteers all doing their very best- choose kindness with us. Please.

Baby ❤️ the last of the 3 pekingnese pups who are currently in our care. And of course she's the absolute sweetest too.

I am so grateful for this rescue because we got to Baby just in time.

With a raging uti and a really rotten uterus- urgent spaying is required. That's a bit of a scary surprise for us since we thought she was already spayed AND she was living with an intact male in her previous home.

Please spay your dogs. Baby most likely feels super yucky right now.

We will also be removing the lump near her eye which she's been sporting for a while.

Once recovered from this big surgery, Baby will return for a full dental to clean up her mouth too.

These three pekingnese are quite a bit more than we bargained for in terms of their care (updated vetting, spay/neuter and dentals for all as well as some other surgeries and specialized care) but their sweetness certainly makes up for it for sure.

Baby's team:

DIANE HUGGINS who will be covering the entire cost of Baby's initial vetting to bring it up to date, alongside of her urgent care surgeries. This is a truly lifesaving gift for Baby ❤️.

FEN42 who working together with DR SUSAN GUNDRUM, JENNIFER MOSSOP, JOANNE LANGLEY, LOUISE HARRON, THATSIT, KENNETH PUSTAI and VICTORIA ALDWORTH will cover the complete cost of Baby's dental.

I'm grateful we could work together with their previous family and extended family to ensure these 3 could get the assistance needed.

When ready to adopt- Baby, Chewy and Marla are going to make some very lucky families quite happy. And we know that would make their first family very happy too.

🌈 This Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we wanted to take a moment to remember all of the beloved pets who have made the journey to the other side.

We want to remember the love they gave us, the cuddles on cold winter nights, the gorgeous sunsets we got to see with them on evening walks - all of the amazing memories we had with them. 💙 The time we get to spend with them, whether that be their entire lifetime or just a few months, makes the pain we feel when we lose them worth it. 🐾

Henrie- 12 years- male- 11 pounds

All about Henri from his foster: This guy is so lovely, so many good things about him. Will greet you at the door when you get home. As soon as his leash comes out his tail is wagging. Also goes to the door to let me know he has to go out. He’s perfect!

-excellent temperament & great house guest
-snuggly and cuddly
-meets new people well
-good to stay alone while you work
-great with cats
-great with dogs
-house trained and tells you he needs out
-apartment friendly
-loves his walks- he is excellent on leash
-great mobility
-a low energy fellow- he’s just happy to hang out but also loves his walks
-car rides are still newer to him- he will pant-
-sleeps in bed with his people
-does not do stairs at this time
-good to stay alone while you work
-adapts easily to new environments

Medical: Henrie is a happy healthy boy! He has been neutered, had a dental and vetting brought up to date. Please note: Henrie is low vision (he sees enough to map out new places with ease and sees his leash- loves to go for walks! etc) He is also low hearing too. None of this phases this happy boy in the least and you’d never know either exist.
