Happy Halloween from us here at Dauphin Citizens on Patrol

Who said Halloween was just for trick-or-treaters?

Whether you're heading to a costume party, celebrating with friends or enjoying a night out, take a few minutes to make a plan before the frights of the night begin.

đźš• Plan a safe ride home before you head out.
đźš« Never drive impaired by alcohol or drugs.
âś… Only accept food, drinks or substances from people you know and trust.

A little planning can help ensure your Halloween is remembered for the right reasons.

Thanks to local members of the RCMP Detachment for their involvement yesterday.

On Wednesday, the Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) hosted Coffee with a Cop at the Dauphin Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (DNRC).

Dauphin RCMP officers had the opportunity to connect with community members in a more relaxed setting. The event supported strong community partnerships and encouraged open communication, collaboration and a shared commitment to a safer, stronger community.

We are grateful to the COPP and DNRC for the invitation and to the local Co-op, which graciously supplied water, coffee and cookies for the event. Thanks to all!

Message from the Commissioner:

"I am deeply troubled and saddened by the recent shootings across the country targeting police officers, resulting in serious injuries and tragic loss of life.

These acts of violence are senseless and unacceptable. Every day, law enforcement personnel put themselves in harm’s way to protect others and keep our communities safe. When violence is directed at those who serve, it is not only an attack on police officers, it is an attack on the very communities we are sworn to protect.

On behalf of the RCMP, I extend my heartfelt thoughts to the injured officers and to those mourning the loss of colleagues who have died in the line of duty. To their families, loved ones, and to all members of the law enforcement community affected by these events, you have our deepest support and solidarity.

The RCMP extends our full support to our law enforcement colleagues as we navigate the profound impacts of these devastating acts of violence."
