the business over from his father, Abe, and his uncles in the late 1940’s. Alderney Landing houses a professional, fully-equipped 285 seat theatre - the perfect destination for a night on the town or your troupe's next production. Alderney Landing Theatre is host to professional performance and dance groups from around the world, as well as adapting to serve its clients and community in Nova Scotia. Our vendors offer you a wide variety of product from the best in locally produced food, to home-style baked goods and much more. Products and vendors vary with seasons. The Norman Newman Market is located on the ground floor of Alderney Landing. It is open to the public 7 days a week. The Alderney Landing Market is home to several permanent vendors. So if you're taking a stroll on the Dartmouth Waterfront, drop by The Craig Gallery - Art Gallery, grab lunch at Evan's Seafood Restaurant or Port City Coffee or get a soothing massage at Casaroma Wellness Centre, or pick up some wine at the NSLC, all with beautiful views of Halifax.

Nazareth to Replace Loverboy at Rock the Harbour 2026 This August

Due to a medical situation with one of the band members, Loverboy has had to cancel. They’re looking forward to seeing their fans on the road again soon.

Rock the Harbour is pleased to announce that legendary Scottish rock band Nazareth will now join the festival lineup, taking the stage on Sunday, August 16, 2026, as part of the three-day classic rock festival on the Downtown Dartmouth Waterfront.

Nazareth is known around the world for classic rock staples including “Love Hurts,” “Hair of the Dog,” “This Flight Tonight,” and “Dream On.” With a catalogue that has helped define generations of rock music, Nazareth is set to deliver a powerful Sunday night performance for Rock the Harbour fans.

“While we know many fans were looking forward to seeing Loverboy, we are sending our best wishes to the band and are grateful to welcome Nazareth to the Rock the Harbour 2026 lineup,” said Bea MacGregor, Alderney Landing CEO. “Nazareth is a legendary act with an incredible catalogue of songs, and we know they will bring an unforgettable rock experience to the Dartmouth waterfront.”

All previously purchased tickets remain valid. Fans who purchased tickets for Sunday, August 16 or weekend passes do not need to take any action.

Rock the Harbour 2026 takes place August 14–16, 2026, at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The festival will feature three days of classic rock, including Helix, Kim Mitchell, Nazareth, Lee Aaron, Nick Gilder & Sweeney Todd, Haywire, Toronto the Legacy, Spoons, Titan, and Michelle Ryder & Side Hustle.

You’ll find fresh produce, baked goods, prepared foods, coffee, local products, handmade items, and more throughout the market.

Later this evening, Food for the Ears Festival will also be happening at Alderney Landing! This non-profit music festival celebrates local artists and supports Feed Nova Scotia, with 100% of net profits being donated to help fight food insecurity in our community.

Please note: A portion of the parking lot will be reserved for festival setup, but parking will still be available for Farmers’ Market visitors.
