Alderney Landing exists to enhance the recreational and cultural life of the region. The Norman Newman Market was donated in memory of Norman Newman ~ 1928-1993. in the Halifax-Dartmouth area, having taken the business over from his father, Abe, and his uncles in the late 1940’s. Alderney Landing houses a professional, fully-equipped 285 seat theatre - the perfect destination for a night on the town or your troupe's next production. Alderney Landing Theatre is host to professional performance and dance groups from around the world, as well as adapting to serve its clients and community in Nova Scotia. Our vendors offer you a wide variety of product from the best in locally produced food, to home-style baked goods and much more. Products and vendors vary with seasons. The Norman Newman Market is located on the ground floor of Alderney Landing. It is open to the public 7 days a week. The Alderney Landing Market is home to several permanent vendors. So if you're taking a stroll on the Dartmouth Waterfront, drop by The Craig Gallery - Art Gallery, grab lunch at Evan's Seafood Restaurant or Port City Coffee or get a soothing massage at Casaroma Wellness Centre, or pick up some w**e at the NSLC, all with beautiful views of Halifax.

Join us at Alderney Landing on Saturday, October 17 for the FREE, all-ages Fire & Water Cultural Festival, celebrating the elements that unite us.

Enjoy fire dancing and performances, live and interactive music, an Indigenous teaching circle around a sacred fire, hands-on pottery, immersive art, food and drink, and a grand fire finale!

Bring your family, meet up with friends, and celebrate with us by the harbour. ❤️
