The cleaning tip you didn't know you needed: pull the washer out slightly to check the hoses for any drips, cracks, bubbles, or crimps. Then check the dryer vent hose. A clogged or kinked dryer vent doesn't just slow down drying time, it's actually one of the leading causes of household fires. A quick check of both once a year can save you big headaches.

For every dollar men earned in 2025, women earned 85.5 cents. That's up from 81.6 cents in 2022. Pay transparency, along with childcare expansion and minimum wage increases help in narrowing the gender pay gap.

Over 80% of job postings in BC now include pay information, and this year more employers will be required to post pay transparency reports.
