Did you know there is family friendly ultimate in the valley?

Family Ultimate is Tuesday night 7:30-8:30 on the field between Lake Trail and Puntledge schools.

It's not run by CVU but man do we love the chaotic fun and great family vibes. Kids of all ages are welcome with their parents and it's a great place to start getting your kids used to ultimate (and parents used to running)!

No equipment necessary - just turn up for some family fun!

This Saturday the 6th marks the 16th Annual Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game, a nationwide event to honor a massive force in Canadian Ultimate, locally put on by the Nanaimo Ultimate Association.

The game starts at 11:00 am sharp in Nanaimo and if you want to come, join the CVU discord https://discord.gg/8NVt2SQ7k9 to arrange a ride! Food will be provided and there are prizes! Bring a red shirt AND a white shirt.

Art Hawkins was an influential and respected member of the VUL community for almost 20 years until his all too early passing in 2010.

During the 2000s, Art's involvement with the sport off the field grew substantially. He was a VUL Board of Directors member and was named Executive Director of the VUL in 2008. As ED, he strengthened the league's clinic and mentoring programs and increased the focus on junior development.

Art strongly supported charities and created and ran the annual Elimination 8's tournament, which continues to generate funds for local Vancouver charities. He also worked with Ultimate Canada to build the Great Canadian Ultimate Game.

In 2011 Ultimate Canada honoured his memory by starting this yearly event.

Pickup is back at Queneesh, Saturday, May 23rd. 3pm. Goaltimate or Ultimate based on numbers or both. It was cold and rainy last week for our Cumberland pickup game and we had a great time, tomorrow will be much better weather and even more fun!

Saturday Pickup Notice:
Reminder that our regular pickup game Saturday, May 16 is NOT happening. Instead we will be a having a demonstration/community game in Cumberland at the Cumberland Village Park, from 1pm to 3pm. Come show off your trick throws and totally unnecessary layouts. Beer garden nearby?
