With a little science and electrolysis magic, we were able to remove the rust and bring the first Dutch ovens back to life!

What started as a couple of rusty old pots is now looking like they're ready for some serious camp cooking. ⚜️

Next step? Put them to the ultimate test at camp! 🏕️🔥

Stay tuned for a photo from our first camp using these fancy new Dutch ovens — and hopefully whatever we cook in them tastes as good as they look! 😋

A huge thank you again to the generous donor who gave these Dutch ovens a new life in Scouting!

🌍⚜️ Wow! What an amazing update from Scotland! ⚜️🌍

Here’s a glimpse of the adventure from our two Scouts from 1st Chemainus, along with two other Scouts from Vancouver Island, as they experience the incredible Blair Atholl Jamborette!

I’ll admit it... I’m honestly a little jealous! 😄 It looks like they’re having the adventure of a lifetime, making new friends from around the world, learning new skills, and creating memories that will last forever.

We can’t wait to see more photos and hear all about their experiences!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts and cheered these Scouts on. Your generosity and encouragement helped make this dream a reality. ❤️

😂 How do you know you're in Scouts? 😂

Me: Goes on a sports event trip... brings a mess kit... and immediately hangs it up to dry in the hotel room! 🥣🏨⚜️

Once a Scout, always a Scout! You know you've spent a little too much time at camp when packing a plate, cup, and cutlery for a hotel stay just seems completely normal. 😄

Scouting teaches us to always Be Prepared, even if it means the hotel room starts looking a little like Camp Barnard!

🎪 We’re here at the Chemainus Giant Street Market! 🎪

Come find 1st Chemainus Scouts in front of the United Church on Willow St. At the corner of Alder St. from 9 AM to 3 PM today!

We’ve got some awesome Scout creations on display: Beaver Buggies, Cub Cars, Scout Trucks, and more. Stop by, say hello, and learn more about what Scouting looks like in your community!

This is the biggest and best market in Chemainus — and it only happens once a year. Don’t miss it!

🥘 A huge thank you to the generous donor of these two amazing Dutch ovens! 🥘

These well-loved cast iron beauties have definitely seen a few adventures over the years and need a little TLC before they're camp-ready again. Luckily, Scouts love a challenge!

We'll be giving them a proper restoration, starting with an electrolysis bath and possibly a lye bath to bring them back to life. With a bit of elbow grease, patience, and Scout spirit, we hope to have them cooking again in no time.

And once they're restored? I foresee another legendary Scout turkey dinner cooked over the campfire in these Dutch ovens! 🦃🔥

Stay tuned for restoration updates and future camp cooking adventures. Who knows what delicious meals await?

Thank you again for your generosity and support of Scouting. These Dutch ovens will help create many more memories around the campfire for years to come.
