🏅 Badge Placement 101!

Have you received a new Scouting shirt or collected some new badges? With so many badges to earn, it can be tricky to know where they all belong!

Not every badge goes on your Scout shirt! Some are meant to be sewn onto your uniform, while others are perfect for displaying on your campfire blanket.

💡 Scouter Pro Tip: Use a glue stick to temporarily position your badges before sewing them on by hand or machine. It helps keep everything in place and makes the job a whole lot easier! 😉

🍰🔥 Dutch Oven Baking at Mini Challenge Camp! 🏕️

Who says you can't have cake while camping? 😄

At our Mini Challenge Camp, we put our newest Dutch oven to the test and baked a cake right at camp! Nothing beats enjoying a sweet treat in the great outdoors, especially when you make it yourself.

Our Scouts are learning that camping is about more than just setting up tents and building fires — it's also about trying new things, developing practical skills, and discovering just how much you can do outdoors!

Of course, a little cake makes the experience even sweeter! 🎂

🏕️ Mini Challenge Camp Adventures! 🔥

From practicing their lashing skills and building shelters to learning fire-building techniques and tackling new challenges, our 1st Chemainus Scouts have been busy putting their Scoutcraft skills to the test!

It’s all about learning by doing, working together as a team, building confidence, and having fun in the great outdoors. There’s nothing quite like getting outside, trying new things, and learning skills that will last a lifetime!

With a little science and electrolysis magic, we were able to remove the rust and bring the first Dutch ovens back to life!

What started as a couple of rusty old pots is now looking like they're ready for some serious camp cooking. ⚜️

Next step? Put them to the ultimate test at camp! 🏕️🔥

Stay tuned for a photo from our first camp using these fancy new Dutch ovens — and hopefully whatever we cook in them tastes as good as they look! 😋

A huge thank you again to the generous donor who gave these Dutch ovens a new life in Scouting!
