Chemainus Harvest House Society Food Bank

Chemainus Harvest House Food Bank is a registered non-profit charity operating as a food bank. The Harvest House runs it’s food bank service twice a week.

Fridays we are in the basement of the United Church on Willow Street in Chemainus from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Mondays we are located at the Warmland Center in Crofton, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. The Harvest House Food Bank serves local Islands and the smaller surrounding communities of Chemainus and Crofton ; those wishing to access the food bank can do so once per week. Donations can be dropped off on Thursdays.

🎉 Together We Made a Difference! 🎉

A huge thank you to Westland Insurance, Country Grocer, and everyone who contributed to last week's food drive!

Thanks to your generosity, 386.5 kg of food was collected and $872.45 was raised to support Harvest House and the neighbours we serve.

Every donation helps ensure individuals and families in our community have access to food and support when they need it most.

💙Volunteer Spotlight💙

Meet Alec!

If you’ve stopped by on a Tuesday evening, chances are you’ve seen Alec hard at work in the kitchen slicing bread, helping with distribution, or putting together kids’ snack bags.

Fun fact — Alec once told me he didn’t know how to cut bread because he’s “spoiled at home.” Safe to say he’s become a bit of a pro since then! 🍞😄

Volunteers like Alec help keep things running smoothly week after week, and we’re so grateful for the time, care, and kindness he brings to Harvest House.

A warm meal made with love!

We want to send a huge thank you to the Catholic Women’s group for coming in and preparing a delicious Ginger Coconut Lentil Dahl dry soup mix for our community. We’re so grateful for volunteers who share their care through homemade meals and community support.

On May 27, 2026, Westland Insurance and Country Grocer are teaming up for a community food drive in support of local food banks — including the Chemainus Harvest House Food Bank 💙

We’d love to see our community come together to help stock the shelves for neighbours in need. Stop by, say hello, and donate what you can! Non-perishable food items and hygiene products are always greatly appreciated.

📢💙Shoutout to the Chemainus Kindness Club for their incredible Hygiene Drive on Saturday, May 9th! 📢💙

These amazing volunteers worked their butts off collecting essential hygiene items for our community, and the results were absolutely incredible — a total of 329 kg of donated items for the Chemainus Harvest House Food Bank!

From toothpaste and shampoo to toilet paper and personal care items, every donation will help support local individuals and families facing food insecurity and financial hardship. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart that went into making this drive such a success.

Thank you to everyone who donated, supported, and helped spread kindness throughout our community. Together, we are truly making a difference. 💙💚

We are currently running low on a few essential pantry items and could really use your support this week.

These staples are used quickly and are important for helping us continue to provide meals and support to individuals and families in Chemainus, Crofton, and the Cowichan Valley.
