Millican Ogden Community Association Millican-Ogden is an awesome, small town feel community located in the southeast area of Calgary.

The Millican Ogden Community Association, or MOCA, is a very active community association operating the:
* Jack Setters Arena
* Community Centre building including Upper & Lower Halls

Your Community Association is made up of dedicated volunteers committed to ensuring a high quality of life in and around Millican Ogden. You can check the website regularly to keep tabs on the news and events that m

ight affect you. Millican Ogden Community Association maintains a diverse mandate. We comment on all building development applications, run sports and recreation programs, publish a newsletter and website, and still find the time to run an expanding list of social events. Each year, our voice grows, and so to does our voice in civic affairs. We have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, including name calling and profanity on our page.

The City of Calgary kicked off the "envision" stage of the Carburn Local Area Plan today. The Local Area Plan (LAP) will help guide how our community grows and changes over the next 30 years.

Their website lists the following engagement sessions:
🗣Tuesday, June 9 - Open House from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Riverbend Community Association
🗣Thursday, June 18 - Conversation Series at multiple times (registration required) at Riverbend Community Association
🗣Tuesday, June 23 - Conversation Series at multiple times (registration required) at Millican Ogden Community Association
🗣Wednesday, June 25 - Virtual Engagement Session from noon - 1:00pm (registration required)

A Rogers cell tower is being built near Jack Setters Arena over the next week or so (depending on weather).

When the permits were submitted over three years ago, MOCA was opposed to this location for several reasons: proximity to homes, visibility, and the location is actually where we dump the snow from the arena. We had also advocated for the tower to be disguised like a tree, similar to what you may see in Banff or Canmore.

Unfortunately we were not successful in our efforts to mitigate the tower’s potential impacts.

We have been notified that the Rogers cell tower planned for near Jack Setters Arena will be installed on Friday and Saturday.

This tower was approved nearly three years ago, even though MOCA was opposed to the location.

We will share more information as it becomes available. The image here is from Rogers.
