Islamic Heritage Month 🌙

This October, HLA proudly celebrates Islamic Heritage Month, a time to honour the rich history, diverse cultures, remarkable achievements, and lasting contributions of Muslims around the world.

Throughout the month, students will explore the people, places, ideas, and innovations that have shaped our collective history, from advancements in science,
medicine, mathematics, architecture, literature, and the arts to the values of knowledge, justice, and service that continue to inspire us today.

May this month inspire our students to learn from the past, take pride in their heritage, and recognize their responsibility to contribute positively to the world around them.

What a beautiful and uplifting start to the school year! Starting the day anchored in reflection—from the opening Duaa and Land Acknowledgment to coming together for O Canada—sets such a grounded, meaningful tone for the entire school community.
Taking time in the middle of the day for spiritual connection adds that crucial space for students and staff to reset, align their intentions, and focus on what truly matters. There is always a unique, hopeful energy in the building when students return from summer, full of fresh enthusiasm and ready to kick off a new journey together.
Wishing the Horizon Hawks a wonderful, inspiring, and successful school year ahead!
