Right now, our shelter is running low on a few items that help women and families feel safe, comfortable, and cared for as they rebuild their lives. In particular, we are in need of shampoo and condition to stock the shelves in our hygiene cupboard.

A warm blanket, a fresh start to the day, or the ability to prepare a simple meal can mean more than you might imagine.

These small comforts create stability, dignity, and a sense of normalcy during an incredibly difficult time.

The Supreme Court said coercive control can cause its own harm, separate from other forms of abuse. Survivors may be entitled to compensation for that harm.

This matters because survivors have always known that abuse is often about taking away a person’s dignity, freedom, equality, and choices.

At Radiance, we know abuse can have long-term effects. We help survivors feel heard, explore their options, and connect with trusted resources where needed.

Hygiene products are some of the most-needed items at Radiance. Families reach for them every day, and they help moms and children feel comforted, confident, and cared for. đź’ś

Right now, we need help keeping our shelves stocked. If you have items to give, or have a church, community or school group who can host a hygiene drive for our families, we want to hear from you!

Our current wish list includes:
• Deodorant
• Body wash or shower gel
• Shampoo & conditioner
• Razors & shaving cream
• Skincare products
• Hairspray & hair styling products
• Body lotion

Please ensure all donated items are new, unopened, and unexpired. Travel-size items are helpful in some settings, but for shelter use, full-sized items reduce how often families need to request replacements and help us stretch donations further.

The Child Support Worker will provide daily care, support, and supervision for children between 19 months to 6 years of age in a daycare setting. This position works in partnership with the Child Support team and Supervisor in a child-centered, family systems focused, and trauma-informed program.

This role is ideal for someone who is:

✨ Committed to creating safe, supportive spaces for children to grow and thrive

Today we celebrate all who nurture, support, guide, and love with a mother’s heart. Wishing comfort, joy, and appreciation to everyone marking Mother’s Day in their own way. 🌷

In recognition of Mother’s Day, we are creating a circle of appreciation to honour and uplift all women in shelter, including mothers, women who are not mothers, and those for whom this day may carry complex emotions.

Thanks to the thoughtful gifts from the Owen Hart Foundation and Judith, a kind-hearted individual donor, women in shelter will be reminded that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Looking for a meaningful way to give back in your community? Radiance is currently seeking organizing and inventory volunteers to help support our programs and create welcoming spaces for those we serve.

Volunteer duties may include:
✨ Labeling and putting away food orders
✨ Stocking our food pantry
✨ Organizing storage areas
✨ Creating welcome baskets

We are especially looking for volunteers available on Thursdays from approximately 1–3 PM.
