Calgary Meals On Wheels

Calgary Meals On Wheels When you've got a lot on your plate, let us do the cooking. What we believe:
Everyone deserves to be well-fed. But we do not have to do battle alone.

Regardless of age, ability, or life-circumstances, we all have something to offer the world. It may be as simple as a smile, or it may be a testament to the courage everyday living requires— whatever shape our gifts take, they exist within all of us to share. At Calgary Meals on Wheels, we give the comfort of healthy, nutritious meals to anyone who needs it, so they can continue giving themselves to the world. What we aim to offer our clients is far more than full stomachs, we want to offer them the chance to be the heroes of their own stories. What we do:
When you’ve got a lot on your plate, let us do the cooking. We all travel through life under different circumstances. For some of us, the road is smooth and then suddenly becomes rocky, for some of us trying times are stamped on the horizon. The truth is no matter what path we travel we will all experience periods of struggle. Whether it’s an injury, illness, disability, the loss of a loved one, divorce or simply the natural slowing that comes with age, at some point all lives will be touched by hardship. In those moments, Calgary Meals on Wheels exists to provide the comfort of healthy nutritious meals. We will all face challenging times, but we don’t have to do it on an empty stomach.

This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for a city that shows up for one another. 💛

Every meal delivered is made possible by people who care - volunteers giving their time, donors lending their support, and neighbours looking out for neighbours.

And right now, your kindness can go twice as far.

Thanks to a generous matching gift from Qualico Communities Calgary, every dollar donated until October 14 will be matched, up to $7,500.

Your gift helps Calgarians access affordable, nutritious meals when they need them most. It also brings something just as meaningful - care, connection, and the reminder that someone in their community is thinking of them.

This Thanksgiving, be part of a community that cares.

Want to make a difference in your community? We've got a spot for you in our kitchen! 💙👩‍🍳

We're looking for Production Volunteers to help prepare and package nutritious meals for Calgarians who need them.

Behind every meal delivered is a team of caring people who help make it possible. And we'd love for YOU to be part of it!

As a Production Volunteer, you'll help prepare ingredients, portion meals, and work alongside our amazing kitchen team. You'll build new skills, meet great people, and make a real difference - all behind the scenes!

⏰ Flexible weekday shifts!
Join us anytime between 6 AM and 2 PM, for a few hours or a full shift. We just ask for a regular commitment so we can count on you.

No kitchen experience? No problem! We'll provide the training you need. Volunteers must be 16 or older and complete our screening and onboarding process.

Ready to roll up your sleeves and help feed Calgary? We'd love to have you on our team! Learn more about volunteering 👉 https://www.mealsonwheels.com/volunteer

39 volunteers. 20 routes. 230 meals delivered. ❤️

That's what teamwork looks like!

Over three days, 39 amazing volunteers from ATCO hit the road to help deliver meals and smiles to our Calgary neighbours.

Together, they covered 20 delivery routes, bringing 230 nutritious meals right to people's doors. But their impact went beyond the meals. Every delivery was also a chance to share a friendly hello and remind someone that their community cares.

A HUGE thank you to the ATCO team for showing up, giving your time, and helping us feed our city and strengthen our community. We're so grateful to have you by our side! 💙

⏰ There are only a few days left to make twice the difference for Calgarians facing food insecurity.

Until the end of our Thanks for Giving campaign, Qualico Communities Calgary is matching every donation dollar for dollar, up to $7,500.

If you’ve been thinking about giving, now is the time. 💛

Every day, Calgarians turn to Meals on Wheels while recovering from illness, living with health or mobility challenges, facing financial pressure, or working to stay independent at home.

As one client shared:

“It is not until you actually use the service that you realize how important it actually is.”

Your gift helps make nutritious meals, connection, and support more accessible to people across our city.

And right now, your gift has double the impact.

Help us make the most of Qualico Communities Calgary’s $7,500 match before time runs out.

This Thanksgiving, your generosity can go twice as far.

From October 7 - 14, Qualico Communities Calgary is matching every donation to Calgary Meals on Wheels - dollar for dollar, up to $7,500.

That means:
$25 becomes $50.
$50 becomes $100.

And together, $7,500 in donations can become $15,000 to support Calgarians.

Across our city, seniors on fixed incomes, people recovering from illness, families facing rising costs, and children experiencing food insecurity are turning to Calgary Meals on Wheels for support.

Your gift helps keep nutritious meals affordable and accessible - while letting people know their community is here for them. This Thanksgiving, make your gift go twice as far. 💛

💛 October is End Poverty Month. But poverty doesn’t end when October does.

Food insecurity isn’t about a lack of effort. It is driven by economic and income disparities - and it can affect our neighbours, coworkers, families and friends.

At Calgary Meals on Wheels, we see what community care can do.

A nutritious meal can ease one worry. A friendly delivery can bring connection. And access to affordable food can help someone focus on what comes next.

This End Poverty Month, we invite you to be part of that care. Donate. Volunteer. Share our story. Every action helps build a stronger community where more people have access to the food they need.

🦃 It’s Time for Turkeys - and our community is showing up.

From October 1–12, you can support Calgary Meals on Wheels through the Time for Turkeys campaign at Calgary Co-op.

A big thank you to STAR 95.9 and Calgary Co-op for helping make this campaign possible and bringing our community together to support neighbours facing food insecurity. 💛

Every donation helps us provide affordable, nutritious meals to people across Calgary and surrounding communities. Today, we serve about 5,000 meals each day, with 61% of the people we serve being kids through our school programs.

Want to be part of it?

Today, we celebrate the seniors who have helped shape our families, neighbourhoods, and city. 💛

For many older Calgarians, staying independent at home means having the right support close by - That’s where community makes a difference.

Every Calgary Meals on Wheels delivery brings an affordable, nutritious meal right to a client’s door. But it also brings something more - a friendly face, a moment of connection, and the comfort of knowing someone cares.

In fact, 99% of our clients say they feel cared about by our volunteers and staff!

This National Seniors Day, we celebrate the older adults in our community - their stories, their strength, and the many ways they continue to make Calgary a better place.

Here’s to helping our neighbours stay nourished, connected, and independent. 💚
