How grateful are you for your pet? ❤️🐾

This Thanksgiving, we’re working hard to help more dogs become cherished companions. Over the past two years, Fur-Ever Homes Rescue has helped more than 200 local dogs—but the journey to adoption takes far more than many people realize.

Dogs may need veterinary care, treatment, recovery time, food, and a safe foster home before they’re ready to join a family. We’ve taken on some of the highest medical cases we’ve seen, and the costs add up quickly.

If you’re able, please make a Thanksgiving donation to help us care for the dogs still waiting for their chance. Every gift helps us take another step toward a safe, healthy future for them. Thank you for being part of their journey. 🧡

It's Fido Friday! Today we are thankful to be able to update you on Geneviere, now Gwen.

"Her last foster was calling her Gwen and we kept it. She is doing well and loves sleeping in any one of her three beds. She had a birthday March 17 and is now 9 years old.
Gwen had an abcess on her paw but we went to the vet and she has healed well. She is a very quiet dog. She doesnt like loud noises. Gwen is a joy to our family and our girls and all the visitors to our home love her. She is also a fashionista since she has lots of outfits, and sleeps best when she is wrapped in one of her blankets.
We have faced no difficulties with Gwen. She is a smart dog and catches on quickly. When she first came, she did p**p in the house a few times but we estabished a routine and she is now doing well."

Thank you to her adopters for giving Gwen the loving home she deserves. If you would like to bring a special dog like Gwen into your home, please check our website to see who is still waiting or attend one of our meet & greet events and maybe you will fall in love with your new best friend.

🎶 “They call me Berty…” 🎶

Meet Berty, a 3-year-old Frenchie mix with a sweet face and a gentle, shy heart. She’s spayed, weighs about 28 pounds, and came to us through a local surrender.

Berty is a low-energy girl who enjoys beef liver treats—especially when they’re placed on the floor or in her bowl. She’s shy around new people and will need a patient adopter who can help her build confidence at her own pace. She’s already house-trained and p*e-pad trained.

Berty has experience with children and cats. Her ideal home would be quiet, with people around most of the time; she can be left alone for only about 2–4 hours. She has no known medical needs.

Could your calm, caring home be the safe place where Berty learns to feel at ease? Learn more and apply at fur-everhomesrescue.com.

Meet Breeze 🐾

A senior dog’s rescue journey can come with significant costs. For Breeze, intake and transportation, a veterinary exam and blood panel, dental care with extractions, and spay surgery with medication added up to $3,623. Her $500 adoption fee helps, but Fur-Ever Homes Rescue covered the remaining $3,123 to give her the care she needed.

Every donation helps us say yes to dogs like Breeze and give them a fresh start. If you’re able, please donate through the link in our bio. Thank you for being part of their journey. 💙

Meet sweet Celeste. 🤍

Celeste came into our care in March 2025 as part of the rescue of 89 poodles confiscated in Manitoba. Following an intensive dental procedure, she developed a rare fistula in her mouth. Despite several attempts to repair it, the opening could not be successfully closed.

Fur-ever Homes Rescue has invested thousands of dollars in Celeste’s medical care, ensuring this gentle senior remains safe, comfortable and deeply loved as a member of our hospice family.

Dogs like Celeste deserve dignity, compassion and care—regardless of their age or medical needs. Your donation helps us provide exactly that. 🐾
