Available for adoption in Calgary!
My name is Koko. I am three years old and weigh about 50 lbs. I am an energetic female Labradoodle. My dad was a Chow, but I think I favour my mom’s side. I love my new haircut – I feel so footloose and fancy free now! I’m not aggressive, although I do have a strong prey drive and sometimes jump during walks, but hey, I'm still young!
Kids love me. I grew up with two little girls so I would love to find a family again; I would also be happy living with adults. I love to be walked. So far, my foster mom says I’m a little too eager and I pull her too hard. It’s just because I’m so excited to go outside! My foster family bought me a new harness and is teaching me some leash manners. I am a fast learner, so I am making progress already.

Check out Fancy, a spry 13 year old Shiba Inu now looking for her new family, preferably in Calgary.

Fancy's owner passed away last month and her foster family says so far she is a lovely dog to have at home. True to her breed, Fancy is very independent, often snoozing on her own in another room, but just as often she is hanging out close to people. She is affectionate, gives little kisses and enjoys pets once she gets to know you. She knows the furniture is off limits, so only gets up on it when you aren't there: so considerate! While she has been in foster care for a brief time, they say she is easy all-round - no separation anxiety, not much barking, no accidents, no reactivity on walks to people, dogs, squirrels and not even a cat they came across. She just wants to sniff around and p*e on things. Fancy was overweight from her previous owner who loved her a little too much. She has been slowly trimming down to a better weight. She gets the zoomies in the morning and likes to play with squeaky toys.

Fancy may have issues with other dogs in the home. Her owner lived for a time with the son's family and their two dogs, also Shiba Inu. Over time Fancy became very possessive of the son and aggressive towards his dogs. This behaviour was only at home in those circumstances; Fancy had never shown aggression before in 13 years. For this reason she should be the only dog in the home. If other dogs visit, Fancy should be carefully watched. She would make a great companion for someone on their own or for a couple.

We are helping our Peterborough ON pawd find a home for two very special gentle giants. Gemma and Chaos are 12- and 14-year-old Cane Corso crosses and are the most gentle, easygoing souls you could ever hope to meet. They recently lost their beloved companion and are now looking for a loving home to spend their remaining years.

They are good with strangers and children and treat each person they meet as their new best friend. Given their ages, they like to sleep a lot but happily go outside for
bathroom breaks, to chase a ball around the yard and to soak up the sun. They LOVE car rides, the longer the better. Both dogs are fully housetrained and have updated rabies vaccinations. Chaos takes medication for arthritis and has some mobility issues. She can manage the three steps in and out of her current home, although not without some difficulty. Both girls have recently lost some weight which is helping with their stiffness and mobility. They both have experienced some urinary leakage but it is being well managed with medication.

Both are accustomed to having space where they can wander freely and have had very little leash training. They did well on a brief trial on leash, although they were not tested around any distractions. They are unlikely to need long walks and would generally be content with access to a securely fenced yard where they can wander and relax.

Chaos is Gemma’s mother, and they have lived together their whole lives. Ideally we would love to find a home where they could remain together. However, our greatest priority is to find each of them a safe and comfortable place to spend the rest of their lives. They are loving, adaptable girls and could settle into separate homes as long as they felt secure, cared-for and loved.

We have a bonded pair of seniors available in Calgary for adoption. At the back in this photo is Jagger, who at 15, is slightly larger than Hayley [front], who is 17.

Both are quite shy and don't bark a lot except perhaps at a dog passing by. They are friendly and love to be petted. Despite their age, they are in good health and enjoy going for two walks a day. No signs of dental pain right now in either dog although they are losing some teeth, which is common for the breed and their age.

ADOPTION ALERT!! Chica has found her forever home just in time to celebrate Stampede! Good work Chica.

Meet 13-year-old [approximately] Chica, a Chihuahua-Dachshund mix available for adoption in Calgary. She has been living in a seniors' residence for five years where sadly, her owner passed away in December. While there, Chica had limited walks and was over-fed, resulting in her being very overweight. She has been on an active weight reduction program and now weighs just under 20 pounds. Her new owner should be diligent in continuing Chica’s weight management regime.

Chica needs a one-level home or one with minimal stairs as her legs are too short to climb. She currently uses a short ramp to access the bed. She also requires a home where someone is home most of the day. She is loyal to her owner and as she loses her hearing and sight, she needs reassurance that someone is around. Her favourite thing is having someone pet her. Daily walks can be any length of time as she enjoys walking 10 minutes or one hour, especially in bushy, wooded areas where it is cool and shady. She loves snow and the water. Unlike most dogs her age, she
does not show signs of arthritis. She is energetic and goes swimming for exercise. Her present routine is very relaxed. After a walk, she sleeps or hangs around in the kitchen. She barks when she needs to go out and is not incontinent. She likes car rides and is comfortable staying in the car for short periods, weather permitting.

She had a full work-up and vet exam in January 2026 and there are no concerns, other than obesity and being deaf. She also had her teeth cleaned in February 2026 and while six teeth had to be extracted, her appetite and ability to eat has not slowed down.

Still available for rehoming in Calgary is Anna (pronounced AWNya), a rat terrier/Jack Russell cross, aged six.

Anna enjoys tug of war and playing/attacking stuffies to get the squeakers out. She avoids dogs/animals that she doesn't like and gravitate towards ones she likes. She is also very much a cuddler; she likes to cozy up with people sitting on the couch, especially if there is a blanket she can crawl under. She has a little Alpha personality. She lives with a big dog, but hasn’t gotten overly attached to the other dog. Anna competes for attention from strangers or visitors and enjoys going on walks.
