Meet Scout, available for adoption in Calgary! Scout is a 10-year-old female Australian Shepherd mix who is looking for a new place to call home. Her owner moved and cannot take a dog with her so Scout is currently being fostered, where she has adjusted surprisingly well. It helps that she gets lots of affection. When the foster mom goes out, Scout lays at the top of the stairs waiting with tail wagging when she returns. She is such an easygoing girl, she even let her foster mom brush her teeth after only a few days!

Scout still has the herding instinct at times. If she wants to go to bed, she might nudge you to do the same. When outside, she is alert to everyone and every sound.

She has quite a few pounds to lose and her foster mom is helping her with that already. She loves crunchy vegetables and apple slices.

Sherlock update! We are so happy to tell you that Sherlock will be staying with his foster family as he has settled in and is happy. Thank you everyone for your interest!

Sadly, his owner died last year and a friend is currently caring for him. An active 15-pound Jack Russell Terrier/Papillion mix who still likes to go on walks and to sniff out mysteries, he is curious about everything. Sherlock lives with two small dogs now and likes one a lot and tolerates the other. Despite this companionship, he suffers from separation anxiety when his human is travelling and does not enjoy going to a dogsitter on those occasions. Sherlock is looking for a quiet stable home with lots of attention. When he is first in a new place he does have a tendency to p*e, but he will make a great senior companion. Look at this beautiful face! Since coming into foster care in January 2026, Tika is transforming into the dog she was meant to be. Initially, she was reactive to other dogs while on leash. Now she is in a foster home with other dogs and is doing well. She likes her walks, but likes hanging out at home with her humans even more. Truly laid back, Tika is the most relaxed dog while in the home or yard where she feels safe. She loves to lay around and be petted. She has not experienced any adjustment issues since leaving the home of relatives after her owner died. She is a gentle giant at 85 pounds and is a seven year old Shepherd Lab mix. She has not been spayed. She is a smart girl who would make a loyal relaxing companion.
