Can you top the leaderboard at Locked Library: High Score?

You came to the Library to play a retro arcade game, but got trapped inside one instead. Now, in a world inspired by literary role playing games (LitRPGs), puzzling quests, and increasingly bizarre rules, your team must unlock achievements and beat the game to get everyone home. Will you accept the challenge and level up? Or will you need to use an extra life?

Save $10 with early bird tickets, on sale now at LibraryAfterDark.ca. Don't miss out — this is the final Locked Library of the year!

All proceeds from this event support vital programming, resources, and initiatives at Calgary Public Library.

ICYMI! Last week, we celebrated Dolly Parton's legacy with Dolly Parton Day in Calgary. 🦋

We partnered with Country 105 : Calgary's Country] to raise funds for Calgary Public Library's My First Bookshelf program, which is operated in partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Calgarians, we raised more than $285,000 to move 505 kids from the waitlist into the program. Because of you, more kids are going to build their own home libraries and their love of reading.

THANK YOU!

Thank you, Calgary!

We're blown away by the incredible generosity you displayed yesterday on Dolly Parton Day. Thanks to your donations, we raised more than $285,000 in support of Calgary Public Library's My First Bookshelf program! You helped us clear the waitlist — and then some!

Whether you shared our posts, tuned into the morning broadcast on Country 105 : Calgary's Country, celebrated with a Dolly-themed drink, or made a donation, you made a major difference in early literacy in our community.

Because of you, more kids will receive books every month for a full five years. More kids can read with their parents every day. More kids can meet early learning targets. More kids can learn to love reading.

That's quite the cup of ambition you've filled.

A special thank-you to Lorraine and Peter Moore and the Kanovsky Family Foundation for tripling donations yesterday morning.

You can keep the momentum going in Dolly's honour — donate now at libraryfoundation.ca/dollyday.

We have AMAZING news!

Because of your incredible generosity, we reached our $40,000 goal and 505 more children can participate in Calgary Public Library's My First Bookshelf for one year. But the work isn’t done. We’re setting a new goal of $220,000 to support all those kids through the full five years of the program.

Hudson runs to the mailbox every month to see what book 'Auntie Dolly' has sent him. My First Bookshelf has helped him build his home library and given his family more opportunities to read together. His mom says reading together is helping Hudson get ready for preschool.

Dolly Parton’s love of reading made a mark on so many children’s lives. Thanks to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, books delivered to a child’s home open the door to imagination, learning and a lifelong love of reading. My First Bookshelf program provides children with a free, age-appropriate book every month until their fifth birthday — that’s up to 60 books to call their own.

Thank you, Calgary!

Let’s keep making a difference in early literacy! Make a donation at libraryfoundation.ca/dollyday.
