Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, and their families and communities.

As a career development association working in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq, we recognize that reconciliation is ongoing work. Call to Action 92 calls for equitable access to jobs, training, and education for Indigenous peoples, a commitment that speaks directly to the work of career development. We are committed to listening, learning, and making sure career development practices in Nova Scotia are culturally safe and responsive.

Our office is closed today so our team can take time to reflect, learn, and participate in community events. We will reopen on Thursday, October 1st.

We encourage career development practitioners to reflect on the 94 Calls to Action and consider what they mean for our work with clients and communities.
