I was recently made aware of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and attended a Community Forum on Early Literacy and Community Impact last night.

Speakers included Jeanne Smitiuch, The Dollywood Foundation of Canada; Angela Johnston, Local Program Partner; Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail, Author and Literacy Advocate; and Vanessa Pike, MPH, RD, Parent Supporter. The room included politicians, parents, other program partner’s, and more.

If you have never heard of it, you should check it out - https://imaginationlibrary.com/ca/.

There are already several participating communities throughout Nova Scotia, such as Cole Harbour, Windsor, Colchester County, and many Indigenous communities. The goal is to eventually include all of Nova Scotia.
