🩵 Toonie Tuesday – Meet Theo 🩵

This sweet boy is Theo, who was found late Friday afternoon lying on the side of Galetta Side Road. When he arrived at the shelter, he was in very rough shape.

Theo has already visited our veterinarian three times. He was severely dehydrated and weak, and has painful ulcers on both his feet and in his mouth. This poor little guy would not have lasted much longer on his own.

Thankfully, Theo is starting to feel a little better and is slowly regaining his strength. He still has a road to recovery ahead, but he’s receiving the care he needs and showing us just how strong he is. ❤️

This Toonie Tuesday, we’re asking for your help. Any donations received will go directly toward Theo’s veterinary care and treatment. Every toonie, every dollar, and every share helps us continue providing lifesaving care to animals like Theo.

🎉 Happy Tails for Pancake & Bagel! 🐾❤️

Double the cats, double the love! We are so excited to share that Pancake and Bagel have found their forever home together. 🥰

These sweet boys have officially been adopted, and we would like to send a huge thank you to their wonderful new family for opening their hearts and giving them the loving home they deserve. We know they have many happy years, cozy naps, and plenty of treats ahead of them!

🐾💙 Thankful Thursday 💙🐾

This week we have so many wonderful people to thank!

A huge thank you to Hazeldean Pet Valu for hosting our bake sale over the weekend and for their incredible support throughout Pet Appreciation Month. We are so grateful for the many food donations that will help keep our shelter pets happy and well-fed.

A special thank you goes out to our amazing bakers and volunteers who donated their time, talents, and delicious treats to make the bake sale such a success. We couldn’t do it without you!

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Pet Valu warehouse in Carleton Place for their generous donation of litter, dog food, and a big beautiful cat scratcher that our feline friends are already enjoying.

Your kindness and support make a real difference in the lives of the animals in our care. Thank you for being part of our village and helping us give homeless pets the love and care they deserve. ❤️🐾

🐾 Did You Know? We Have a Pet Sponsorship Program! 🐾

Would you love to help a shelter animal but aren’t able to adopt right now? You can still make a difference by sponsoring a pet!

Pet sponsorship is a wonderful way to “virtually adopt” one of our homeless animals and help provide the care they need while they wait for their forever homes. Your sponsorship helps cover essentials like food, vaccinations, and medications.

🎁 It’s also a thoughtful gift idea for the animal lover who has everything!

Choose a sponsorship term that works for you:
🐾 3 months – $30
🐾 6 months – $50
🐾 1 year – $100

As a sponsor, you’ll receive periodic updates and photos of your sponsored pet. And if that pet finds a home, you can transfer your sponsorship to another shelter resident. Tax receipts are issued for sponsorship donations.

💙 Toonie Tuesday – Meet Eddy! 🧡

This week’s Toonie Tuesday features tiny Eddy, a sweet little kitten who was brought to the shelter after being found abandoned in a box with his siblings at a local veterinary clinic.

While Eddy is safe and receiving the care he needs, he still has a few hurdles to overcome before he’s ready to find his forever home. He is currently being treated for both coccidia and giardia, and will also need to be vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered before he can be adopted.

Every dollar donated helps provide the medical care, medications, and routine vetting that kittens like Eddy need to get healthy and start the next chapter of their lives.

🐾 Adoption Spotlight: Sabrina 🐾

Sabrina’s story didn’t start the way any cat deserves. She was left in a box on the shelter front lawn with her kitten. When she managed to escape, we searched and thankfully were able to find her and bring her safely into the shelter.

Despite everything she’s been through, Sabrina is an incredibly sweet and loving girl. She’s friendly, affectionate, and happiest when she’s curled up in your lap enjoying some well deserved snuggles. ❤️

Sabrina gets along well with other cats and has done well with children, making her a wonderful addition to many different types of families.

Now all Sabrina needs is a forever home where she will never have to wonder if she’s loved again.

🐾 Welcome Back to the Shelter, Eva 🐾

Sweet Eva is once again searching for her forever home. 💔

Eva first came to the shelter in 2022 after her owner sadly passed away. She was adopted into a loving home where she settled in beautifully and even had a little dog friend to keep her company. Unfortunately, through no fault of her own, Eva has found herself back at the shelter after her owner had to move and was unable to take her along.

At approximately 6 years old, Eva is a gentle girl who enjoys the quieter side of life. She may take a little time to get to know new people, but once she trusts you, her affectionate personality shines through. She loves attention and will happily greet you with her adorable little chirps when she’s looking for some love.

Eva would thrive in a quiet adult home where she can settle in at her own pace and enjoy the comfort and stability she deserves.

After losing not one, but two homes, we’d love nothing more than to see Eva finally find the forever family she’s been waiting for. ❤️
