Big things are happening 😻

We are officially a registered charity 🎉

Our team has been working behind the scenes to get our charitable status set up and approved and that time has come!

What does this mean?

- We can now issue tax receipts for donations to our rescue of 20$ or more
- We are eligible to be donated to through the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) if you are a Government of Canada employee
- We can apply for grants etc that can assist us in growing our rescue and our community spay/neuter uber program
- & so much more!

We’re still the same rescue, fully run by dedicated volunteers but as we utilize our charitable status to grow our rescue, we’d love to welcome new volunteers to the team!

Happily ever after 😻

Look who have found their furever home!

Oliver and Sylvester (now Sylvie) have found their forever home with a loving, recently retired couple & they have a puppy sibling!

Their transition to their new home was a prime example of the 3-3-3 rule (3 days to decompress in a safe place like bedroom/bathroom, 3 weeks to learn routines & 3 months to settle in).
Understandably scared, these two initially hid wherever they could which required patience and some crafty trapping on their owners part.

Now just over 2 months in their new home, they are playful and affectionate and have an amazing setup to play and explore in.

Thank you to their adopters for their love and patience; transitions with a new animal can seem hard in the moment but once the walls come down and the trust is earned, it is so worth it

Another successful Spay/Neuter uber is complete 😻 in partnership with Pet Valu Arnprior

27 kitties made the trip with us to Lanark Leeds & Grenville Spay Neuter Clinic for exceptional care as always!

The importance of spay/neuter services was highlighted today, when we were informed that one of the community cats we took to the clinic had pyometra (an infection within her uterus that can be life threatening).

With the clinic’s expertise and the owner connecting with us for spay services, a life was saved today 💕

So today’s shout out’s go to:
- the wonderful staff at Lanark Leeds Grenville spay/neuter clinic for their care
- Tina Matte, our clinic driver extraordinaire who ensures all your kitties arrive safe and sound!
- Pet Valu Carleton Place for hosting a secondary drop off/pick up location so that more people can access affordable spay/neuter services
- everyone who is working to make spay/neuter services accessible and who takes advantage of the services provided; please spay & neuter your pets

Yesterday was donation pickup day and are we ever blessed! 😻

We picked up donations from 3 Pet Valu partners, shout out to Pet Valu Arnprior, Pet Valu Carleton Place & Pet Valu (Carling)!

As well as donations from REN'S PETS Kanata who have been doing a food drive/donation collection for us!

Food donations like this take a huge weight off our shoulders; allowing us to put our fundraising towards outstanding vetting, spay/neuter surgeries etc without worrying where the funds for the next food stock will come from.

With 80+ cats in care, it’s a lot of mouths to feed and we’re so lucky for the support we have to keep their bellies full 💕🐾

Meet Ragna, our gentle soul!

Ragna is a two year old sweetheart with the most expressive eyes

Ragna came into our care back in November as a part of the Haley Station colony.
While initially shy, once she warms up to you she loves her pets. She also loves her churu treats.

We just know that she will be a lap cat once she settles in with you because of how she craves love and affection.

Ragna gets along well with other cats but is untested with dogs or children.
