Meet Matthew Brearley! A former restaurateur turned farmer (Castlegarth Farms 💚), Matthew brings over 30 years of hands-on experience across every facet of the food industry—from planting the seeds to securing the supply, and ultimately ensuring there’s a seat at the table for everyone.

His deep commitment to fighting food insecurity in our region is reflected in his incredible work across Eastern Ontario, including:
• Founding member of The Longer Table right here in the Ottawa Valley
• Former board member of the Arnprior Food Bank
• Community work with the Two Rivers Food Hub (Smiths Falls), The Table Community Food Centre (Perth), and Parkdale Food Centre (Ottawa)

Matthew firmly believes that access to good, nourishing food is a fundamental right for everyone—no exceptions!

On Sunday evening The Longer Table Arnprior received a lovely donation of tomatoes and green/yellow beans courtesy of Glad Tidings Arnprior “Seed of Faith” Community Garden 🪴

Part of our mission is to foster community connections between service organizations in our community; so we channeled this donation straight to the Arnprior & District Food Bank Inc. this morning, by way of one of our great friends and volunteer ❤️

We’re looking forward to more harvests from Glad Tidings Church that we’ll incorporate into our cooks or channel directly to the Food Bank for fresh distribution! This is our community in action and we could not be happier! 🥕🫛
