Over the past weekend (22-24 May) Cadets from 285 RCACC, 875 RCACS (Antigonish) and 374 RCACS (Westville) participated in a joint FTX!

Cadets had the opportunity to learn several key skills such as
-Emergency/Wilderness First Aid
-Radio Procedures
-Knot Tying
-Improvised Shelter Building
-Search and Rescue Procedures

Cadets also participated in a mock airplane crash in which some cadets were given injuries and sent into the brush with seniors and another group was tasked with locating and treating these injuries using the skills they acquired over the weekend!

Also a big shoutout to ALL of the senior cadets who planned and executed an amazing FTX thank you all for your hard work!

Tonight the senior cadets from 285 RCACC, 875 RCACS and 374 RCACS made their way to Aspen to begin planning and laying out our Field Training Exercise before the rest of the cadets hit the ground tomorrow! Stay tuned for lots of pictures from the weekend and take a peak at some from previous FTX's!

On Monday May 4th 285 RCACC and 875 RCACS had their Monthly CO's Parade!

Several Presentations were made which include,

Promotion to Lance Corporal - Lance Corporal Casey
First Class Marksman - Lance Corporal Casey

Standard First Aid Qualifacation Badges - Sergeants Kaiser, MacGillvary and Swinkels. Warrant Officers Coady, Rafuse and Rastmanesh. Master Warrant Officer Pelly

Captain MacDonald also presented Chief Warrant Officer Nixon with the CO's Letter of Commendation for his work and dedication with the Pipes and Drums program both with the Corps and the Region

May the fourth also being Star Wars Day the corps had a Clone Trooper Instructing a bit of drill and preparing for ACR which is coming up quick!

Monday May 11th marked Master Warrant Officer Pelly's final parade with 285 RCACC.

Today Wednesday May 13th he was sworn into the Canadian Armed Forces as a Regular Forces Infanteer.

From all the Staff and Cadets of 285 RCACC we wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavors!

Cadets from 285 will be participating in a community cleanup along side Legion members this Saturday, 09-May at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 ARRAS in Antigonish.
