Awesome Foundation Antigonish The Antigonish Awesome Foundation exists to increase awesomeness in Antigonish. Pitch your awesome idea and you could win $1000 to bring it to life!

Awesome Antigonish is working to help move the awesomeness forward in Antigonish Town and County. We will offer $1,000 cash to a successful applicant each month for an idea deemed awesome by our board of trustees. (Note: We reserve the right to not award the grant, split the grant or miss a month.) The Awesome Antigonish trustees meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the board room of AA Mu

nro at 219 Main St. Antigonish in the Kirk Building at 7pm. We also invite the top three applicants to join us to present their idea in person. All applications are ideally submitted by the second Wednesday of the month to be voted on by trustees for the following weeks meeting. Finalist will be contacted via email to let them know to come and present in person. If you have knowledge of an individual or a group doing something awesome please ask them to submit an application and we could be awarding $1000 cash towards their awesome initiative if their project is chosen.

In Memory of Irene MacLeod

For a third year, a caring group of Antigonishers have come together to provide meals for those in need as a tribute to Irene MacLeod. Gift cards will be purchased from our local grocery stores to be distributed to those in need by a local non-profit organization, A Roof Over Your Head - AROYH. AROYH supports and advocates for the homeless and precariously housed in Antigonish & Guysborough town and counties.

This year’s initiative is being sponsored by Bellwether Family Wealth, Alva Construction, Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating, and Highland Multimedia.

Irene inspired this act of caring because of the huge impact she had on our community. She gave back to her community both publicly and behind the scenes and was very passionate about the fact that everyone should have a roof over their head and a hot meal, especially at Christmas time.

Antigonish is a better place because of acts like this, thank you to everyone for their support.
