Our Founder is selected as one of the recipients to receive the Leadership Seed Pack from The Rostrum Global Initiative.

We are grateful to have been chosen from hundreds of applications from around the world for this initiative. The package included several leadership books and resources that we are excited to explore as part of this journey.

X Helping Hands look forward to applying these learnings as we continue working on community and youth leadership initiatives.

Thank you to Olasupo Fagbemiro and the entire team for this opportunity. We look forward to staying a part of this initiative in our leadership journey.

We had an incredible day at our “Belonging on the Land” event at this Saturday.

From storytelling with Elder Joe and Elder Terry to a peaceful guided hike and sharing wooden pizza together, it was a day of connection, learning, and community. Snowy, our special guest, added even more joy to the experience.

Grateful to Ashley Sheppard, our facilitator Mariana, our team member Bhavpreet, Jennifer for their support, and to our founder Tavneet for bringing this vision to life.

On January 2, 2026, X Helping Hands had the joy of hosting a Henna session through the Hearts & Hands program with L’Arche Antigonish.

Our team facilitator Puja Sharma and our founder Tavneet Kaur spent a beautiful day connecting, learning, and sharing smiles with the incredible members of the L’Arche community.

Moments like these remind us why community, inclusion, and togetherness matter so much.
A heartfelt thank you to L’Arche Antigonish for hosting X Helping Hands for their very first program of the year, and for so warmly welcoming us into your space.

Learning, laughter, and hands full of henna — truly a day to remember

FUSION FOOD: COOKING WORKSHOP

On October 11, 2025, X Helping Hands hosted a lively Fusion Food Cooking Workshop at the Antigonish Town & County Library, led by facilitator Neeti Bhatnagar. Community members rolled up their sleeves to make chickpea cheesy sliders and a colorful chaat board, learning simple techniques while swapping stories and laughter. The free, hands-on session brought together newcomers and long-time residents to cook, taste, and connect, plates filled quickly and conversations flowed even faster. We wrapped up the afternoon with shared bites, recipes to try at home, and big smiles.

HENNA DESIGNS WORKSHOP
On September 20th, 2025, X Helping Hands hosted a vibrant Free Henna Designs event at the Antigonish Art after dark festival on main street. The event was organized by Tavneet in collaboration with Antigonight 2025, with community member Pooja Sharma contributing by providing henna for participants. Community members gathered to enjoy the art of traditional henna while listening to music and sharing laughter. The street was filled with creativity, excitement, and conversation as participants received beautiful henna patterns on their hands. It was not just about the designs but also about the connections made through culture and fun. Afterward, everyone mingled, shared snacks and drinks, and left with smiles and unique designs to carry home. The event was a wonderful success in celebrating art, culture, and togetherness. Thank you to all who joined us — here are some of the best moments captured from the day!
