Meet Chico. He is apx 8 years old and a chunky stout 13.5 pounds.

Chico is a great dog in many ways however he does take some time to warm up to new dog friends.

This behavior appears fear based with new dogs he does not know getting in his face, he will growl and do a little air snap. After he feels safe and secure , within a few days, Chico will be your dogs new best bud.

He also has a bit of separation anxiety .

He hates a crate or pen and wants to be out with his people. Which really is not a problem because he appears fully potty trained and is not destructive.

He walks on leash and we have never heard him bark.

Chico is great with cats and kids.

He would love a home with home body or retired person that stays home a lot with him. He would make a fabulous companion and lap dog.

He is very clean, well behaved and would do fine in a small home space or apartment type dwelling. He will also use wee pads if you put one down and he never misses.

He will have some anxiety the first few days in a new environment as he is just so unsure and scared of all the change. We can send him home with some medication to assist with this transition. He will settle in after a bit once he feels safe.

Chico gets a dental on June 29th . He was neutered young and squats to p*e so no marking.

Chico loves all people and is very submissive to people and adores attention.

He was an owner surrender to animal shelter so it is understandable he has some trauma he needs to work through.

Chico is actually a very good boy aside from the dog aggression, and if he just had someone give him a chance a couple weeks of decompression time, he will be your best friend and most loyal companion.

Meet BamBam , he is a bulldog mix?? Maybe some boxer in there.

He is apx 4-8 months and weighs apx 17 pounds on 6/9, growing fast He will be apx 40 pounds fully grown.

He is a puppy that is going to need a patient, loving and committed adopter . He needs training and routine and lots of positive reinforcement.

He is very loving , cuddly, and smart. He is very food motivated. Knows sit, and wait.

He loves all people and other animals but does try to chase the cat just out of playful curiosity.

He is a giant baby. He sleeps in the human bed, he hates a crate or puppy pen and will scream his head off however he is not potty trained so that has been a challenge.

He needs someone home often enough that can be consistent in taking him outside potty. He definitely needs other dogs and playmates. He is good with all dogs big and small old and young. He is not a loner.

Bam Bam is also a bit mouthy and likes to put his mouth and teeth on you when playing or showing affection. This has gotten a LOT better and I have been working at this pretty hard to curve this habit but he may not be suitable very young children or seniors. He is not trying to hurt anyone but the way he plays may accidentally injure someone with sensitive skin.

He is a gentle loving soul, he loves cuddles and being picked up and sleeps right next to you.

He is a good eater and knows to sit and wait for food and treats. He is very trainable but forgets very quickly so he needs consistency.

We did have a dna test done on him that should be back in apx 4 weeks. He is an amazing boy that needs the perfect home.

Abby is currently being fostered in Texas but will be arriving in Ontario soon!

Meet Abby.

She was rescued from the Nee Braunfels Humane Society and was part of a very bad hoarding case.

She is apx 2 years young and weighs apx 8 pounds. She was very shy on her first day here but every day she comes out of her shell little by little.

She is not just going to go up and jump into a strangers lap and give them kisses. This is a dog that’s going to need some time to decompress and get used to new surroundings. She is not feral. She just needs to gain some confidence and be socialized more. Lots of love, doting upon, lots of baby talk, and positive affirmations and in a couple days she will be crawling in your lap.

She is great with all other dogs, cats and well mannered children. She is a gentle soul and needs a gentle family. She needs a well fenced yard as she is not ready for the leash and harness. I think that she will become. comfortable in time once she bonds with her people and gets used to her new surroundings.

Abby is doing very well here considering her background and has warmed up to us in a very short period of time so I have no doubt she has such amazing potential to be a perfect little companion in her forever home. Please just have to give her a chance. ❤️ 💜

Update

*Shilo can climb a 4 ft fence/ baby gate, she is not trying to get away, she is just trying to get to her people.*

Shilo is a female. Apx 1 year young, and 14 pounds but a tad thin and will need to gain a little weight. She is just built tall and slender but I think 16 -17 pounds would be more ideal for her.

She came to us from our local shelter and when she first got here she was very very shy, reserved and a bit shut down. By day two she started to come out of her shell, she loves other dogs, she is always smiling and has a wiggly tail wag.

She is very very gentle and we even have her with the smaller dogs and a couple senior dogs.

Although she seems very shy, timid and gentle at first because she is so young I do think when she is used to her home and she knows she is safe she will become more playful and rambunctious.

A little girl came to the rescue with her parents to adopt a different dog and Shilo lit up, she adored the little girl (6 yr old). Shilo would do great with kids .

She is great with all animals.

So far she has no quirks that we can tell. She just needs some socializing and confidence building on her end.

She loves soft pets and people doting on her. She is a very gentle loving soul, she never jumps on people and I have yet to hear her bark.

She just walks around the rescue with a big smile like she thinks this is the greatest place on earth, little does she know what is ahead 🙂 little does she know that she is up for adoption and hopefully very soon she will have a family of her own.

Albert is apx 1.- 1.5 year young and 11.5 pounds. Tall and slender.

He is a very good boy.

He is fast and loves to play but he is not overly hyper.

He plays well with all dogs, cats and kids and knows between older dogs and puppies , he takes dog cues well, he also is not a jumping bean like his brother Kroger.

He was rescued from our local shelter and has been a complete gem .
