Standing united in eternal gratitude for the brave Canadian soldiers whose bravery bought the peace and freedom we cherish today.
The red poppy stands as a universal symbol of solemn remembrance, connecting Canadians across every generation in deep respect for our military heroes. Passing this sacred tradition of gratitude down to our children and grandchildren keeps the torch of freedom burning bright across Canada. May we never take their ultimate sacrifice for granted! Lest we ever forget.

Last weekend at the Acton Legion was one for the books! Our first Wrestling Event was a true success and brought smiles to the faces of young and old alike. A big shout out to Jeff Black and Off The Ropes wrestling! We can’t wait to have you back in the new year.

We're talking prizes, Halloween costumes and three giant screens playing videos of all those country tunes we love! Feel free to use the QR to purchase in advance. And don't fret, the Urban Cowboy will be back in November. See ya'll there!

We are excited to announce that Sunday Brunches are back at the Acton Legion! Join us on Sunday, November 22nd from 11am-1pm for a delicious array of food, along with coffee, tea and juice prepared by the Branch 197 Ladies Auxiliary.
$15/person, tickets can be purchased at the main bar during operating hours. While tickets can be purchased at the door, purchase yours early to ensure you get a spot!
We will also have mimosas, Caesars and Baileys for purchase at the bar to accompany your meal if you choose. It's the perfect start to a Sunday.
Then consider sticking around to watch Sunday football at 1:00pm on our 85" TV. We have an array of icy cold, always low priced b**r that pairs perfectly with any game.

On Saturday, November 7th, the Acton Legion is hosting a Remembrance Day Lunch following the Remembrance Day Parade. Branch 197 Ladies Auxiliary will be serving a delicious roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. Cost is $25/person and tickets can be purchased at the main bar during operating hours until this Sunday (November 1).
Join us for the parade to the Acton cenotaph where we will honour those that have served and sacrificed and then make your way to the Acton Legion for camaraderie and lunch.

Our Membership Early Bird Campaign has begun!
Pay your 2027 membership dues by November 30, 2026 and your name will be entered in a draw to win one of THREE free memberships, which will be applied to the 2028 dues for the winners.
The draw will take place on Levy Day (January 1, 2027) at the Branch.
Memberships can be renewed at the Branch during operating hours or online at https://www.legion.ca/join-us/renewal. The renewal fee is $70. Once your renewal has been processed, your 2027 sticker will be available at the Branch if you have a physical membership card. Please see a Bar Steward to collect.
For new members that joined in 2026 for free as Centenary members, just a reminder that you need to pay your renewal fees for 2027 in order to maintain your membership with the Legion.

Our next fun Co****le Tournament at the Acton Legion is on Sunday, November 29th.
Doors open at 10:30am, registration is at 11:00am and we starting throwing at 11:30am. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment as spots are limited and late registrations will not be permitted. This is a 19+ event.
$5 for Legion members, $10 for non-members. There will be food available for purchase and $1 off Caesars all day.
If you don't want to play, you can still pop by for a beverage and a bite while cheering on your friends. See you there!

The Acton Legion is thrilled to be hosting its annual Christmas Bazaar THIS COMING SUNDAY (November 1) from 10AM to 3PM. With over 40 vendors, there will be many goodies to choose from to get you into the holiday spirit.
When you’re done shopping, you can always enjoy a hot dog and a beverage.
Admission is free as always. Hope to see you there!
