Optimist Club Halton Hills The Optimist Club of Halton Hills is a local service club geared towards helping youth. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

The Optimist Club of Halton Hills is part of the Optimist International association. More than 2,900 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicate themselves to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their positive attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. THE OPTIMIST CREED

Promise Yourself-

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. In 1922, the Optimist Creed was adopted as the official creed of the organization. The Optimist Creed was developed by Christian D. Larson. Some of the local Halton Hills community-based youth programs, events, activities or groups that The Optimist Club of Halton Hills has provided either through volunteering or funding support for over the years have included:

Remembering Dan Martin

The Optimist Club of Halton Hills is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime member Robert Daniel "Dan" Martin, who passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, at the age of 87.

Dan lived a remarkable life dedicated to community service, including his service as a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran, his years with the Georgetown and Peel Regional Police forces, and his active membership in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120 and the Optimist Club.

Many of our members will fondly remember Dan attending our club dinner meetings alongside his daughter, Danielle, up until this past spring. His warmth, genuine connection with others, and passion for giving back left a lasting impression on our entire club.

On behalf of all members of the Optimist Club of Halton Hills, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Danielle, Lisa, Patricia, and the entire Martin family during this difficult time.

The Optimist Club of Halton Hills was proud to host another successful poker night, raising funds to support local youth athlete Carter Gallant on his journey to an upcoming bodybuilding competition.

Thanks to the players and volunteers who came out to support the event on July 17th, the evening raised a total of $2,025.00! These funds will go directly toward competition expenses, travel, and training preparation.

Our poker nights offer local sports teams, clubs, and individual youth competitors a fundraising platform where our team manages the venue, licensing, and tournament layout while your supporters help raise meaningful dollars.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the tables to back our local athletes!
