It is with sadness that we share news of the passing of Reverend Peter Barrow on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, at the age of 92.
Peter was a beloved father to Trish (John), Jane, and Maggie (Steve), and a cherished grandfather to Samantha and Katie, and great grandfather to Hunter. He is survived by his sister, Margaret White, and her family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol.
Reverend Barrow served as the minister at both Knox and Limehouse Presbyterian Churches in Georgetown for 32 years. In retirement, he continued to support and uplift the community of Halton Hills. His commitment to service extended beyond the church; he was a Padre for the Royal Canadian Legion and Chaplain for both the Halton Hills Fire Department and the Halton Region Police Department. A lifetime member of the Masons and the Shriners Club, he was also involved with the Air Cadets, the Rotary Club, and was a founding member of the Georgetown Highland Games.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 6, and Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. both days at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 8, at 11 a.m., with interment to follow at Limehouse Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 120, Mill Street, Georgetown.
