She’s been their girl for 10months. Now the paperwork says what their hearts have known all along.

Our very own Dumpster Diva, Reef, is officially adopted!

We had been waiting for Reef to be spayed - the final step in our adoption process. However, with her Stage 4 kidney disease (yup! Diagnosed at 6months old!), surgery is currently too risky, so we’ve made her adoption official.

Reef is her family’s first-ever dog, and the care and dedication they give her is something truly special. They’ve embraced every part of life with her, making sure their girl is treasured, comfortable and thoroughly spoiled.

Happy Halloween, Reef! We think that pink ribbon suits your very well-earned diva status.

Tux is 10months old, neutered, vaccinated, loves to cuddle, great on a leash, crates, fully house trained.

Tux arrived as a five-month-old puppy. Now ten months old, he’s been with us longer than any other dog we’ve cared for.

Other pit bulls have found homes, but interest in Tux has been painfully quiet. Is it his black coat? His age? Or have we simply not shown you enough of who he is?

What would you like to know or see about Tux? Tell us below—and please share his photo to help his future family find him.

It truly is this simple.

Stop trying to cash in on a living creature.

Bermuda has far too many dogs and not enough homes. Our island cannot sustain the endless breeding. Rescues cannot keep up. Animal Wardens are overwhelmed, and there simply isn’t the space, funding or resources to keep building sanctuaries for dogs nobody wants.

And let’s be clear. Warehousing dogs isn’t the answer either. Not every dog is suited to living in large groups, particularly those who are poorly socialized, fearful or struggling with behavioural issues. Keeping them alive isn’t the same as giving them a good life.

One routine surgery can prevent so much suffering. The neglect, abuse, abandonment and heartbreak don’t just affect the dogs. They affect the families, the rescuers and everyone left trying to pick up the pieces.

We cannot keep producing more dogs than we can responsibly care for.

We cannot rescue our way out of a problem we keep creating.

Be kind. Spay and neuter your dogs. Be part of the solution.
