The North South University Law & Mooting Society successfully hosted “Navigating a Career in Corporate and Commercial Law”, featuring Nafiul Alam Shupto, Advocate, District and Sessions Court, Dhaka, Senior Associate at The Legal Circle, and an esteemed alumnus of North South University.

Drawing from his academic and professional journey, he shared valuable insights into legal practice, career development, and the opportunities and challenges in corporate and commercial law. The session offered students practical guidance and a clearer perspective on shaping their legal careers.

We were honored by the presence of Professor Md. Rizwanul Islam, Professor of Law and Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, North South University, and our respected Faculty Advisor, Ms. Nasmin Jabin Noor, Senior Lecturer, Department of Law, North South University, whose support and encouragement contributed greatly to the success of the event.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our speaker, faculty members, and all participants for making the session engaging, insightful, and memorable.

A public talk titled “Institutionalizing Peace for Sustainable Development: Advancing the DPCW-Based Peace Governance through Local Corporations” was held on 13 June 2026 at Audi 801 of North South University. The event was jointly organized by the North South Law and Mooting Society (NSLMS) and the Department of Law, North South University, in collaboration with the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a South Korea-based international NGO, and the Bangladesh Forum for Legal and Humanitarian Affairs (BFLHA). The program was attended by distinguished academics, legal scholars, peace advocates, students, and youth leaders. The session was chaired by Professor Nasar U. Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor of North South University, and featured Professor Md. Rizwanul Islam, Professor of Law and Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at North South University, as the keynote speaker. Benjamin Kim, Coordinator of the Department of Peace Education at HWPL, and Jacob Bae, Coordinator of the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), attended as special guests and representatives of the collaborating organizations.
