💛⚜️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO Smithstock Property! ⚜️💛

Yesterday, we were thrilled to welcome Jackie to our Den, where she presented Withcott Scout Group with a generous $500 donation through Smithstock Property’s Sold With Heart initiative! 🥰

Through this fantastic program, Smithstock Property donates $500 from every property sale to a local charity or community group nominated by their sellers. We are incredibly grateful that one of Jackie’s recent sellers chose Withcott Scout Group as their recipient! 💛

Community support like this makes a real difference to volunteer-run organisations like ours. Every donation helps us continue providing opportunities for our Joeys, Cubs and Scouts to learn new skills, build friendships, explore the outdoors and create lifelong memories. 🏕️🔥🌿

Jackie hopes this will be the first of many Sold With Heart donations to Withcott Scout Group, and we are so thankful to be part of such a wonderful community initiative.

Thank you, Jackie, Smithstock Property and the generous sellers who thought of us! 💛

Your support means so much to our Scouting family. ⚜️

🌿 Exciting times at Withcott Scout Group! ⚜️
Recently, we’ve had lots of enquiries from families wanting to come along, trial Scouts and become part of our group. It’s wonderful to see so much interest, and we’re excited to be growing our Scouting community!

To ensure every young person gets a safe, fun and rewarding Scouting experience, we need to maintain the correct leader-to-youth ratio.

✨ Where do we have places available?
🦘 Joeys (5–7/8 years) – We currently have spaces available for our youngest adventurers!
⚜️ Scouts (11–14 years) – We also have spaces available for those ready for new challenges, outdoor adventures and plenty of fun!
🐨 Cubs (8–11 years) – Our Cub books are temporarily closed while we wait for another volunteer to join our team.

💛 Could you be our next Cub Leader?
You don’t need to be an expert in camping or the outdoors! We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, learning new skills and being part of a supportive team. Becoming a Cub Leader is a fantastic way to make a difference and share some amazing experiences with local kids.

If you’d like to find out more about Withcott Scouts, arrange a trial or chat about volunteering, please get in touch with our Group Leader, Richard Bozza

💙⚜️ A HUGE shout-out to our amazing Withcott Scout Group community! ⚜️💙

A massive thank you to our Leaders, Parents, Scouts, Cubs and Joeys who gave up part of their long weekend to come along and help with our Working Bee on Saturday and Sunday. 🔨🧹💪

Thanks to everyone’s hard work, we have given the main Den a much-needed tidy-up and created a safe, welcoming space ready for our group to return for the new term. 💙

And how amazing does the old Withcott School building look?! 😍 It has had a fantastic revamp and is now ready to welcome our 5–8-year-old Joey Scouts for plenty of adventures, learning, fun and making memories. 🌿🔥⚜️

We couldn’t do it without our incredible volunteer community. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in — your time and effort make a huge difference! 💙

⚜️ Looking to join Scouts?

We currently have spaces available in:

Joeys – Ages 5–8
Scouts – Ages 11–14

Unfortunately, our Cubs (8–11) section is currently closed while we work on finding and signing on another Cub Leader. If you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering and helping our Cubs, we would love to hear from you!

What a transformation — and what a fantastic team! 👏💙⚜️

⚜️ Standing with our fellow Scouts at Gatton

We are heartbroken to hear about the break-in at the Gatton Scout Group Den.

As a Lockyer Valley community group, focused on providing positive experiences and opportunities for children and young people, and run entirely by volunteers, it is incredibly upsetting to hear that someone has broken into their Den — not once, but twice — leaving behind a trail of destruction.

Scouting is built on community, friendship, service and giving young people a safe place to learn, grow and belong. The time, effort and resources that volunteers put into making these spaces possible are enormous.

To the Gatton Scout Group, their leaders, families and volunteers — please know that your Scouting family across the Lockyer Valley is thinking of you. 💜

We stand beside you and hope you can rebuild, repair and get back to doing what you do best — supporting our young people and our community.

From your friends at Withcott Scout Group — we are with you. ⚜️

It is with devastating news that we wish to inform the public of not one but 2 break ins to the Gatton Scout Den over the last 2 nights.
Leaders, helpers, parents and youth have spent hours and hours of fundraising time and dollars to purchase items (camp gear, catering stock and equipment) for the den and to make our space a safe and inviting space for all.
Now we need to start again. ☹️
We are volunteers, we do this for our youth. We are a not for profit organisation.
Please keep your eyes and ears wide open to see if we can track down the culprits - who are currently having a large feed of Dagwood dogs, chips and soft drinks, whilst they sell off our gear.

🌸🎉 What a fantastic experience we had at the Carnival of Flowers Parade! 🎉🌸

Our Joeys and Cub had an absolute ball — hitching a ride on the billy cart, high-fiving, fist-bumping, waving to the crowds and generally soaking up the excitement of the day! 👋🙌

It was wonderful to see our youngest members getting involved, enjoying the atmosphere and proudly representing our group. 💚💛

We’ve already got some great ideas for what we can create and bring along on our adventure next year! 🚀 We can’t wait to see where their creativity takes us.

A huge shout-out to our amazing leaders Baloo and Raksha, and parent helper Daniel, who volunteered their time to help with Carnival of Flowers car parking. We really appreciate your support! 👏

🚗 We still have a few car parking spots to fill! If you’re able to lend a hand, please get in touch — every volunteer makes a difference.

🔬 STEM Challenges Galore! 🚀

Our Joeys and Cubs have been busy over the last three weeks taking on a range of STEM & Innovation challenges! 🧪🔧

From building milk bottle lanterns 🏮 to creating water wheels 💦⚙️ and designing their own hot air balloons 🎈, there has been plenty of experimenting, problem-solving, building and, of course, a few challenges thrown in along the way!

Our Joeys and Cubs worked hard, tested their ideas, made adjustments and learned from what worked — and what didn't! 🙌

It has been fantastic to see their creativity, teamwork, curiosity and persistence in action as they worked towards earning their STEM & Innovation Special Interest Area (SIA). 🌟

A huge well done to everyone for giving each challenge a go and embracing the learning by doing that makes Scouting so much fun! 💚💛
