🌱 FRIDAY 19TH JUNE – A NIGHT OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

This Friday our Scouts will be getting their hands dirty as we work together to plant 70 koala fodder trees for the Back to the Bush Koalas project 🐨🌿 We will also be planting 30 native plants in our Environment Garden, made possible thanks to grant funding from Lockyer Valley Regional Council.

This is what Scouting is all about – building resilience, developing a love for our environment, and thinking of others and the future of our planet. 🌏💚

Please bring along:
🪴 Shovel or spade
🧤 Gloves
🔦 Head torch

☔ If it’s looking wet, don’t forget your raincoat – it’s perfect weather for tree planting, and these trees need to get in the ground!

🧡 We're Looking for Leaders! 🧡

Have you ever wanted to make a real difference in the lives of young people while having a bit of fun yourself?

Withcott Scout Group is currently looking for volunteer leaders in our Joeys, Cubs and Scouts sections.

Where else can you pay $5 and spend the afternoon shooting arrows? 🏹 Throw in a little friendly competition between leaders and parent helpers, campfires, outdoor adventures, life skills, and plenty of laughs, and you've got the perfect way to spend your time.

But the best part isn't the activities.

It's watching the young people you guide grow into independent, caring, resilient and kind humans. Seeing their confidence build, their friendships flourish, and knowing you played a small part in their journey is incredibly rewarding.

No previous Scouting experience is required – just a willingness to learn, have fun and support our youth.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent Story Book Cakes Fundraiser!

Thanks to your generosity, we raised just over $350 for the Withcott Scout Group. Every dollar raised helps support our youth members and contributes to providing exciting adventures, activities, camps, and learning opportunities.

Your Story Book Cakes can be collected from the Withcott Scout Den tonight. Alternatively, please let the youth member you ordered through know, and they can arrange to collect and deliver your order.

🎬🍿 The Youth Have Spoken! 🍿🎬

With the cold and wet weather hanging around, our youth have decided that a cosy Movie Night is exactly what's needed!

Bring along your blanket or sleeping bag, pillow, and favourite special toy as we transform the Joey Den into the ultimate movie lounge. Settle in for a night of warmth, friendship, laughter, and relaxation with your Scouting friends.

🔧⚙️Looking for something a little more hands-on? 🔧⚙️

We'll also have a range of exciting STEM challenges where you can put your problem-solving skills to the test using nuts, bolts, washers, and knots. Then we'll finish the evening with a Cub-led and Joey-assisted bridge-building challenge to see what amazing creations our youth can build together.

🍗 Chicken nuggets and chips are on the menu for dinner.
🍿 And of course, popcorn will be served as a special movie-night treat!

It's shaping up to be a fantastic evening of fun, learning, teamwork, and friendship. We can't wait to see everyone there!

💙 Camp Postponement Notice 💙

It is with heavy hearts that our Leaders have made the difficult decision to postpone the Withcott Scout Group Camp scheduled for this weekend.

With the current weather conditions and a number of our youth members and Leaders already unwell, we believe this is the safest and most responsible decision for everyone involved. We know how much our Scouts have been looking forward to this highly anticipated event, and we understand that this news will be disappointing.

The wellbeing and safety of our Scouting family will always come first, and we appreciate your understanding and support.

We hope to see everyone at the Den on Friday night instead, where we'll still enjoy some fun, friendship, and Scouting spirit together.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to rescheduling the camp as soon as possible.

🏁What an incredible day of racing, creativity, and adventure! 🚗

A group of Withcott Scout Group Joeys and Cubs headed up the range to join Rangeville Scout Group for the exciting 2026 Kub Kar Rally!

After weeks of designing, building, and decorating their cars, our youth proudly took on the challenge and achieved some fantastic results:

🥇 1st Place – Evelyn
🥈 2nd Place – Edward
🥉 3rd Place – Stanley

🎨 Best Decorated – Ella
🚀 Most Unusual – Stanley
✨ Most Creative – Max

We are so proud of all our Joeys and Cubs for stepping outside their comfort zones, trying something new, and showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and determination. Events like these create lifelong memories and inspire new adventures for our young people.

A huge thank you to Rangeville Scout Group for hosting such a fantastic event and providing another opportunity for our youth to learn, grow, and have fun.

Congratulations to everyone who participated – we can't wait to see what adventures are next! 🌟

We're on the lookout for some treasures... and we need your help! ⚓

Next term, our young adventurers will be setting sail on an exciting Pirate Adventure, and we're gathering materials for a special project. We're hoping to source:
⚜️ Heavy-duty cardboard tubes
⚜️ PVC pipes and off-cuts
⚜️ Large packing tubes or similar
⚜️ Shoe Boxes
⚜️ Egg Cartons

If you have any lying around in your shed, garage, workplace, or recycling pile that you no longer need, we'd love to give them a new life as part of our pirate creations! Every piece helps bring a little pirate magic to life for our youth. 🏝️🦜⚔️

ARE YOU HEADING UP THE RANGE THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!
Join us as we head up and visit our friends at Rangeville Scouts

🌭 Hot Dogs for dinner ($2 each – please RSVP)

We'll be getting back to the bush, putting our Kub Kars through their paces, making new friends, and enjoying a great night of Scouting adventure!
