(2) The Tail Walker is parkrun’s friendly safety net, making sure nobody finishes last - because they’re always at the back of the pack. They stroll, chat, and cheer people on while enjoying the rare privilege of being officially last!

"parkrun volunteering" is great "wind, rain, hail or shine". There are always some gaps in the future roster, and the sun does shine most of the time, so give it a try, we'll show you how.

And the coffee and chat after the run is always fun.

Nicky and Olga are also long time friends and what to long time friends do, "meet and run parkrun together of course".

And today is was Cyril Curtain Reserve parkrun where the caught up.

Olga a local regular at Cyril Curtain Reserve parkrun enticed Nicky to go westside this morning for their catch up. And despite the weather Olga had a wide smile as she negotiated the course.

Nicky's 50 run milestone is just around the corner and she is also using parkrun as part of her weekly training for an upcoming marathon and is in the best form of her parkrun life. All the best Nicky for the marathon.

Liz, Kathryn and Ailie are the best of friends, and what do best friends do, spend time together whenever they can and why not do that by being a parkrun tourist at new locations. Glad that you chose Cyril Curtain Reserve parkrun today for the first time to add to their individual growing lists.

Despite the challenging weather that didn't seem to deter you as those happy smiles in the picture illustrate.

Kathryn who Canberra based has a special milestone in mind, to have done 52 different parkruns by the time she reaches her 100 run milestone. She has done 92 parkruns at 49 different locations, so far so that goal is very close now. Let's call Kathryn a parkrun legend in advance.

It was great to have you all with us this week and see Liz and Ailie who are Melbourne based, helping out their friend Kathryn achieve her current parkrun challenge.

It was a first for everything this morning for James. A "first" ever parkrun and he was "first" past the post. That's really something. Not many could say that.

To acknowledge the feat, here is James crossing the finish line. Well done James. Didn't manage to get a personal photo of you this time around James, so that will be have to be done on a future visit to Cyril Curtain Reserve parkrun, maybe next week?

We absolutely love it when family groups gather together, enjoying starting Saturday morning with a parkrun and especially this morning when it was a dual celebration being mum Priscilla's 50th birthday. Our Hearty Congratulations Priscilla. 🎂🎉🎊

The inclement weather didn't stop Ellawen, Tim, Annabella and Priscilla having a great time. I assume it was then to be followed by a well earned hearty celebratory birthday breakfast.

Annabelle, Priscilla and Tim are also regular parkrun volunteers at Cyril Curtain Reserve, who love doing so, as do we. I hope the rest of the day was as just good as the start.

It was a damp and chilly winters morning this week, but that didn’t stop 42 hardy souls from rising early for a weekly Saturday morning parkrun fix.
They all looked happy and contented after meeting the challenge.
The first person around the course was an absolute parkrun first timer, well done James, see you again next time, plus 6 other parkrun tourists who visited Cyril Curtain Reserve parkrun for the very first time.
