West Pymble Scouts (ages 11-14) got out over the recent long weekend, hiking the 9km to Wollangambe Crater, near Bell in the Blue Mountains. Great weather and a welcome campfire for the sub-zero nights!

Last week West Pymble Scouts held a special presentation dinner for six of our youth members who have recently achieved their Australian Scout Award. This is the peak award for the Scout section (ages 11-14) and represents many hours of concerted effort across a whole range of activities.

We're very proud to have such a large cohort of members complete this award, and congratulate them on their achievement. All are now continuing their Scouting journey in our Venturer Scout section (ages 14-17).

Over the Easter long weekend, a team of West Pymble Venturer Scouts (ages 15-17) took part in the annual Dragon Skin. Held in Belanglo State Forest just south of Sydney, this event saw close to 800 Venturers from across NSW and beyond participate in almost 150 teams.

Over three days, teams hiked the forest, being scored on activities testing initiative, leadership, creativity, and teamwork.

The evenings saw them staying in one of four campsites run by Rover Scouts (ages 18-25) and Leaders, with a host of nighttime entertainment on offer.

Members of our Group have been out and about on recent weekends... the Venturer Scouts (ages 15-17) did a 25km hike along the final section of the Great North Walk, from Teralba to the finish point at Newcastle's Queens Wharf.
Our Scouts (ages 11-14) held a fishing and raft-building camp at Camp Cudgegong, on Lake Windamere, near Rylstone.

West Pymble Venturer Scouts (ages 15-17) have been keeping busy in recent weeks... including taking part in Clean Up Australia Day, heading out by train to tidy some of Sydney’s rubbish-est places: local railway stations and their surroundings and collecting sack-loads of litter from everywhere between Artarmon and Waitara. And last weekend some of our Venturers took part in a canyoning adventure weekend in the Blue Mountains, exploring several canyons around Mt Wilson.
New members are always welcome!
