1st Turramurra Scout Group

1st Turramurra is one of the oldest and strongest Scout Groups on Sydney's north shore, offering sections for children and young people aged 8-25.

1st Turramurra is one of the oldest and strongest Scout Groups on Sydney's northside, with an outstanding leader team and excellent facilities supporting active programs for boys and girls aged from 8-10 (Cub Scouts), 11-14 (Scouts) through to young men and women 15-17 (Venturer Scouts) and 18-25 (Rovers). The various sections of the Group undertake everything from weekly activity meetings and wee

kend camps to major expeditions and community service projects. Scouting aims to contribute to the development of well-rounded and resilient young people, through a varied program of enjoyable and challenging activities. 1st Turramurra has been providing this for over 100 years.

Sydney North Region Scouts were honoured to stand alongside our community at the ANZAC services in Memorial Park Turramurra and Wahroonga Park. More than 1,000 people gathered in quiet reflection, united in gratitude for the men and women who have bravely served our nation across so many campaigns. Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy continue to guide us.

What a fantastic day on Sunday 15th March celebrating the spirit, history, and values of Scouting with our 1st Turramurra Scout Group community.

A huge congratulations to all our award and service recipients who were recognised. Your dedication, growth, leadership, and enthusiasm truly embody what Scouting is all about. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.

Thank you to all our youth members, leaders, parents, and supporters who joined us, helped out, and made the day so special. Events like this remind us how strong and vibrant our Scouting family is.

One of our own, today, was recognised as Wahroonga Woman of the year 2026 at ‘The NSW Local Women of the Year Awards’. What an absolute honour to be present and witness this.
We all know Denise doesn’t do this for the award, but hey, it’s nice to be nominated and recognised by your local member of parliament, Alister Henskens. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Issy and David 👏🏼👏

We are incredibly proud to announce that Issy and David have achieved the Australian Scout Award (ASA) — the highest honour in the Scout program! 🎉

The ASA is a true pinnacle of Scouting, recognising not only their skills and adventurous spirit, but also their leadership, teamwork, and commitment to the values of Scouting.

To reach this milestone, Issy and David completed a series of challenges and activities that tested their resilience, creativity, and dedication.
This award is more than a badge — it represents personal growth, confidence, and preparation for the exciting journey ahead in the Venturer Scout Section. Their achievement inspires all of us and shows what can be accomplished through perseverance and passion.

Please join us in celebrating Issy and David’s outstanding accomplishment and congratulations to all the other Scouts that achieved this award. They all embody the very best of Scouting, and we couldn’t be prouder!

🔥1st Turramurra BBQ – Saturday 25 Oct 2025🔥

What a cracker of a day! Our scout BBQ brought together generations and cultures in true community spirit. Families brought a plate, sausages sizzled, and the food was top-notch.
The kids rolled out vintage billycarts for some epic hill races — solo and tandem! A few scrapes didn’t slow anyone down, thanks to a quick-thinking parent with medical know-how.
We wrapped up with awards recognising those leaders who’ve gone above and beyond this past year. And while the dessert table was a feast, my personal highlight? Julie’s legendary chocolate brownies. So good, I went back for seconds.
