Numbers aren’t everyone’s thing – but if they’re yours, the Treasurer role is a great opportunity to put those skills to use and make a meaningful contribution to our kinder.

The Treasurer helps oversee Warrandyte Kindergarten’s financial position, working alongside our Director, paid bookkeeper and wider Committee on budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and financial reporting.

And while it might sound like a big responsibility, you won’t be doing it alone.

💬 “Don’t be put off – it is absolutely a team effort! Joining the Committee has been a great opportunity to learn more about how the kinder operates and contribute to strategic decision making.”

It’s also a great way to build connections with our staff, other parents and the wider kinder community.

Whether you're a current kinder family or joining us for the first time in 2027, we'd love you to be part of our Annual General Meeting!

It's a great opportunity to meet other families, learn more about how our community-run kinder operates and discover how you can help shape its future.

We're also looking for new Committee of Management members for 2027. No experience needed, just a willingness to get involved! đź’š

What does a Policy Officer actually do? 🤔

Our Policy Officer helps update, edit, circulate and manage the kindergarten’s policies, but it’s also a great opportunity to learn more about early childhood, develop new skills and stay connected with what’s happening at kinder.

💬 “Being part of the kinder committee has been a great way to meet people and be informed about what's happening at kinder. Taking on the role as Policy Officer has increased my knowledge of early childhood best practices and improved my Word editing and formatting skills.”

And the best bit? It doesn’t require much collaboration, so you can log on and do it when it suits you.

Want to get involved in our kinder community, meet other families and help make a difference for our children?

Warrandyte Kindergarten’s Fundraising Coordinator helps bring fundraising activities and events to life, raising funds that directly benefit our children and kinder.

💬 “Being part of the Fundraising Team gave me a real sense of purpose, knowing that our time and effort helped raise funds that directly benefit the children and the kindergarten.”

With just a few meetings each term, it’s a role that can fit around family life while giving you the chance to meet other parents, connect with our educators and help deliver events like the Kindergarten BBQ at the Warrandyte Festival.

Are you organised, a good communicator and someone who likes keeping things running smoothly? The Secretary could be the perfect way to contribute to our kinder community.

As Secretary, you’ll be part of the Executive Committee and play a key role in keeping everyone connected, informed and on track – from preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes to sharing important updates with committee members.

For Megan, being part of the Committee has been a rewarding experience.

Want to play a more active role in our kinder community, help shape its future and get to know other families along the way?

The Vice President plays an important role on Warrandyte Kindergarten’s Committee of Management, supporting the President and executive committee in the overall running of our community-run kinder.

For our 2026 Vice President, Zoe, the role has been a rewarding way to contribute while gaining a greater understanding of how the kinder operates.

💬 “This role has been a great way to get to know other kinder parents and gain more insight into how the kinder runs. I’ve been able to support the President and executive committee, attend our monthly meetings and help make important changes to the kinder.”

MEET THE COMMITTEE: PRESIDENT

Our Committee President helps oversee the operation of the kindergarten, coordinates the running of the service and acts as an official spokesperson for the Committee.

But being President is about much more than a title.

💬 “Being part of the kinder committee, and serving as President this year, has been one of the most rewarding experiences for my family. It's given me a true sense of belonging and the chance to give back to a community that has given so much to my children.”

This week the 4 year olds explored Guling (Orchid Season) on the Wurundjeri Seasonal Calendar. During Guling, one of the traditional practices is harvesting bark to make canoes. The children were inquisitive about the process and enjoyed cresting their own canoes to test on our river bed.
