Strzelecki Showtime Performing since 1969 🎭 💛 🩶 HOW OUR SHOW BEGAN

Scout Shows originally began back in 1932 in London with Ralph Reader CBE creating the first Gang Show.

Strzelecki Showtime is an annual 100% original musical theatre production written, directed and performed by Scouts from the Latrobe Valley and wider Gippsland. It was a popular creation and soon Gang Shows began all over the world with the Brisbane the first in Australia starting in 1952 and then Melbourne Gang Show in 1953. Strzelecki Showtime was started with the help of Melbourne Gang Show in 1969 and has been running annually ever since. Originally Strzelecki Showtime took the form of the original Gang Shows by running a review style show. Over the years we have evolved and now we perform or own totally brand new original full musical production every year. OUR BADGE AND SCARF

At the conception of Strzelecki Showtime, it was decided that we should have a scarf of our own (rather than the traditional red scarf worn by gang shows). The colour that was decided on was golden yellow with a silver woggle. We sing about this in our theme song Touch of Silver. Our badge has evolved over the years from the old Strzelecki District badge to what we have today.

🎨🎭 Real creativity beats AI every time 🖍️✨

Over this double rehearsal weekend, we hosted a poster design competition for our cast, and their creativity blew us away. No AI involved here, just a bunch of creative kids giving us their version of the O'Connor Farm poster.

Take a close look at their artwork... Can you spot any sneaky hints about what our show is about? 🔍🎭 Drop your guesses in the comments!

📞 CAN YOU HELP US FIND A ROTARY PHONE?

We’re looking for a working or non-working vintage rotary telephone to use as a prop in our 2026 production of O’Connor Farm.

If you’ve got one sitting in a cupboard, shed or garage that you’d be happy to donate or loan to us, we’d love to hear from you! It doesn’t need to be connected or in working order, We’re just after the old-school look. ☎️

If you can help, please send us a message or comment below!

⛺️🌧 CUBOREE 2026 😀💜

A huge shoutout to all our Cubs who attended Cuboree 2026, and a massive thank you to the members of our Showtime family who stepped up to volunteer and work behind the scenes at the camp!

We hope our Cubs had an incredible time making memories that will last a lifetime. Events like this take an extraordinary amount of effort, and seeing our volunteers give up even more of their personal time to support the wider Scouting community and create such a special experience for our youth is awesome to see.

BRAVO 👏
