🌏 Culture Club at Warragul Regional College! 💛

Today, we spent time with young people at Warragul Regional College exploring Culture Mapping!

Culture mapping gave young people the opportunity to reflect on their identities, backgrounds, traditions and the things that shape who they are. It was a great way to celebrate our diversity, share experiences and build connections through meaningful conversations. 🌱✨

We love creating spaces where young people feel seen, valued and proud of what makes them unique!

A big thank you to Warragul Regional College for having us and headspace Morwells lovely Danica for supporting the session 🫶

🌏✨ Culture Club at Kurnai today!

Today our Culture Club crew got stuck into culture mapping, exploring the people, places, traditions, languages, experiences and connections that help shape who we are.

It was awesome seeing the young people share their own stories, learn from each other and recognise the different things that make up their identities and communities. 💛

Culture mapping is such a great way to create conversations around identity, belonging, diversity and connection, while giving young people space to celebrate what makes them unique.

Another great afternoon of learning, sharing and connecting at Kurnai! 🙌🏽🌏

Culture Club at Drouin Secondary College!

Our Culture Club crew at Drouin Secondary College have been getting creative with culture mapping!

Students explored the different places, people, traditions, experiences and communities that shape who they are and what makes them feel connected. Culture mapping is a great way to celebrate the diversity within our school communities and create space for young people to share their stories and learn from each other.

It was awesome seeing students get involved, share their experiences and recognise just how many different cultures, identities and connections are represented across their school community. 🌏

A big thank you to the students and staff at Drouin Secondary College for making Culture Club such a welcoming and inclusive space! 💜

What an unreal day at The ARC in Yinnar! ✨

We spent the day getting our hands dirty, getting creative and making some absolutely beautiful pieces together. Eight gorgeous vases were made, each one completely unique and full of its own personality. 🤎

There’s something so special about slowing down, working with clay and being surrounded by such a beautiful, creative community. The ARC really is such a wonderful place to switch off, create and just enjoy the moment.

So grateful for another beautiful day of pottery, creativity, laughs and good company. Can’t wait to see these vases once they’ve been fired and glazed! Thank you for everyone who helped put this on 🥰

School Holiday Fun with Purple Hedgehog!

Today we had an awesome group of young people join us for a creative journal-making workshop with Purple Hedgehog!

The students got to design and create their very own journals, with plenty of opportunities to get creative, experiment with different materials and add their own personal touches. 🎨

It was so wonderful seeing everyone’s creativity, personality and ideas come to life throughout the session. From choosing their designs to putting the journals together, every journal was completely unique, just like the young people who made them! 💜

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made the workshop such a fun and welcoming school holiday activity. We loved spending the day creating, connecting and having fun together! 🌈✨

✨ What an awesome day at the MY Education Awards! ✨

Today was such a special opportunity to celebrate the incredible work happening across our schools and communities, and I’m so proud to have seen Culture Club Gippsland and our amazing school partners recognised for the work they’ve done this year!

Culture Club has been such a wonderful space for young people to connect, celebrate culture, build friendships and share their experiences. It’s been amazing to see the creativity, enthusiasm and connection that young people bring to every session.

A huge congratulations to all of the schools, educators, young people and community organisations recognised today. Your commitment to creating inclusive, culturally responsive and supportive spaces for young people deserves to be celebrated.

So grateful to be part of the CMY Gippsland team and to work alongside so many passionate people who are making a real difference in our community.

What a way to celebrate the year! 🌏💜✨

What happens when multicultural young people are given a genuine role in research? 🔎

They bring their experiences, perspectives and ideas to help shape research that affects their lives.

Here’s how we’ve been supporting this in action recently:

📚 Alex, Edmee and Mohammed from our Policy team delivered research training for our new Explore Youth Researchers.

🏥 Mohammed was joined by Isa and Adriel from our Youth Participation team at , where they shared how our Youth Advisory Groups have been contributing to the WellMet Study.

🗣️ The team also talked about the importance of meaningfully engaging multicultural young people in health research, including as co-researchers.
