The Haven

The Haven provides transitional supported accommodation for young people aged from years of age who are experiencing homelessnes or at risk of homelessness.

The Haven provides stable, supported accommodation for young people aged from 16 years, who may be homeless, at risk of homelessness or are unable to live at home due to significant conflict or issues. While at the Haven, young people have the opportunity to learn skills required to get ready to live independently. Young residents will be empowered and supported to achieve their education, trainin

For 40 years, The Haven has kept the light on for young people seeking safety, support, and someone to believe in them—because everyone deserves to know there's always a place to turn.

This year, The Haven proudly celebrates 40 years of serving the Toowoomba community.

Watching these cuties hatch over the last few days has been such a highlight for everyone here. 🐣🐥

Are you a young person taking the next step toward independent living? Our Youth Matters Housing program currently has 2 vacancies for motivated tenants to join our private rental program in Toowoomba. 🏠🔑

To be eligible you must;

⭐️ be aged 17-24
⭐️ have a consistent source of income
⭐️ be ready to share a furnished two-bedroom unit with one other person (Own bedroom furniture would be helpful)
⭐️ be willing to engage with tenancy support and case management
⭐️ be motivated to work towards your own private rental

This is a short-term transitional housing opportunity for approx 6-12 months, designed to support you to enter the private rental market.

Did you know that today is World Naked Gardening Day?! 🤭

Whilst we didn’t embrace the naked part… we still enjoyed the sunshine, got our hands dirty and planted some flowers to care for.

Fresh air and sunshine is good for the mind, body and soul. 💕🌻☀️

We will be welcoming the chilly nights soon and thanks to Ironbark Timber Supplies Pty Ltd and Toowoomba Quilters Club Inc, our young people will be toasty warm.

Thank you Tony and Grace for once again donating firewood again this year - champion effort! Special thanks also to the ladies at Toowoomba Quilters Club who lovingly crafted gorgeous quilts for our young people.

The Haven crew have recently returned from our annual camping trip to the beautiful Stradbroke Island. We had a fabulous time sandboarding, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling, 4WD on the beach, fishing and having many laughs along the way. The trip wasn’t without its challenges though… some pretty fierce cyclonic wind may have blown our tents down but it certainly couldn’t keep out spirits down. We are so proud of the resilience our young people showed to get through and continue having the time of their lives!

Special thankyou to the wonderful Dave from Straddie Kingfisher Tours for helping us create some wonderful memories.
