Thirroul Surf Life Saving Club

Thirroul Surf Life Saving Club Providing a safe aquatic environment for the community and visitors to Thirroul Beach Our club is also a place of life saver training.

Members of Thirroul Surf Life Saving Club provide volunteer life saving services for Thirroul Beach each Sunday and public holidays from the first weekend of the September School Holidays till the last Sunday in April. Nippers (5-13yr olds) develop beach and water safety skills each Sunday morning from mid October to late March. Youth and adults are also catered for with our club running Surf Resc

ue Certificate and Bronze Medallion courses. Many of our life savers, young and old, like to further hone their life saving skills and improve their fitness levels through competing in surf life saving competitions throughout the year. The Surf Life Saving Illawarra Awards of Excellence were held on Friday night at The Fraternity Club.

Our Open Male IRB Team was crowned “Surf Sports Team of the Year” 🙌🏻 Jayden, Nick, Max, Jaryd, Samara & Layla will now go on to represent Thirroul & SLSI at the upcoming SLSNSW AOE in August 🤩

Highly Commended awards were given to
Ross for Masters Athlete & Sharon for Surf Sports Official 👏🏼

Congratulations to our other nominees - Paddy, Gillian & Alison and thank you for your outstanding contributions this season 🌟

Anthony, Andrew & Alison were also on hand to receive a Premiers Emergency Citation for their help with the 2022-23 floods.

On Saturday night we celebrated a successful 2025/26 season for Thirroul SLSC 🙌🏻

Thank you to our distinguished guests, Life Members, Committe members, patrollers and their families who attended our Annual Presentation evening, an enjoyable time was had by all.

Thirroul Seagulls were flying high over the weekend in Round 1 of the 2026 Sharkskin NSW IRB Premiership Series, placing 4th overall 👏🏼

The conditions were tough with big swells and choppy seas playing havoc over the two days and unfortunately the tube rescues and relay events had to be cancelled.

Round 2 will be held at Terrigal SLSC in two weeks time 🌊
