Coming up next month. Congratulations on 35 years Schoolhouse Quilters Kenmore!

Thirty five years is a long time and Kenmore Schoolhouse Quilters intend to celebrate this milestone in their history with a memorable “coral flavoured” Quilt Show in July this year at the fabulous new venue of Brookfield State School – an amazing space giving the group an opportunity to expand what is on display and available to visitors.
So much more space in the large school auditorium facilitates the exhibition and display of the many quilts that our talented group has created including prize-winners from a range of competitions.
Extra space has also provided the opportunity for hourly demonstrations over the 2 days showcasing the amazing diverse talents of the multi-award winning members of Schoolhouse Quilters – including hand quilting and piecing, English Paper Piecing, slow stitching, and embroidery.
Another exciting addition to our Quilt Show in 2026 is the introduction of four traders who will be onsite for the two days – Indigo Niche, Whispers of the Valley, Make it Sew and Sewmasters.
Many of our talented ladies enjoy creating fabulous bags of all shapes and sizes. So this year there will be a static display showcasing an array of these beautiful bags as well as an informative display explaining the community development that the group undertakes.
Two magnificent quilts created by the group will be the prizes in our raffle and if you want to be sure to find a hand made gem, there will be an extensive range of items on sale in the Sales are of the show.
And of course because there is so much to see and do, you will need to allow time to stop and have a break at the “Coral CafĂ©â€ where you can enjoy a cuppa and some delicious gourmet home baked goodies, as well as have the time to chat about the show and discuss your Peoples Choice vote possibilities. There will even be a “Sit & Sew Table” for anyone who wants to relax with a needle and thread in hand!
So for so many reasons the SHQ 2026 Biennial Quilt Show at the Brookfield State School where doors open on Saturday 11th July 9am-4pm and Sunday 12th July 10am-3pm is not to be missed!
