Queensland Bookbinders' Guild

Queensland Bookbinders' Guild The Queensland Bookbinders’ Guild was formed to foster, encourage and practice the craft of bookbinding and associated graphic and paper arts.

The objectives of the Guild are to promote, foster and practise the art of bookbinding in its traditional form and to embrace the related graphic and kindred arts. In particular, the Guild aims to preserve the skills of craft bookbinding and to promote their use in both traditional and new ways of making books. The Guild holds monthly meetings at which experts talk on, and demonstrate, subjects of

common interest. In addition, weekend workshops are held where members have access to the Guild’s extensive range of tools and equipment.

Mini books, each with a family memory, from my sister, who is not a bookbinder. There are 70, as it was a gift for my seventieth birthday. I am still opening them all, and she provided additional books for other memories.

Highly recommended. The play, "The Bookbinder " at HOTA on the Gold Coast.
At least three QBG members at today's performance. The sole actor uses a magnificent pop up book to set the scenes in a bookbinding based fairytale. The season has been extended for an additional week. Well worth a trip. Oh, and accurate bookbinding references!
