Queensland Bookbinders' Guild

The Queensland Bookbinders’ Guild was formed to foster, encourage and practice the craft of bookbinding and associated graphic and paper arts.

The objectives of the Guild are to promote, foster and practise the art of bookbinding in its traditional form and to embrace the related graphic and kindred arts. In particular, the Guild aims to preserve the skills of craft bookbinding and to promote their use in both traditional and new ways of making books. The Guild holds monthly meetings at which experts talk on, and demonstrate, subjects of

common interest. In addition, weekend workshops are held where members have access to the Guild’s extensive range of tools and equipment.

Our last day of Winter School was loads of fun, and everyone did such a great job printing some lovely papers. We zoomed right through morning tea without stopping and had to be dragged out for a lunch break…marbling can be like that!

Another busy and successful Winter School day done and dusted. Lots of concentration but happy vibes making these beautiful headbands and endbands.

Looking forwrd to seeing everyone at our special Winter School courses over this weekend. Starting Friday with Edge decoration, and spanning the weekend we'll be exploring tool sharpening and leather paring, headbands and endbands and finishing with some paper marbling on Monday!
