Fantastic hardworking ambassador for SACWA. Congratulations.

Adelaide Plains Citizen of the Year Evelyn Dyer (of Country Cafe fame) was presented with branch Life Membership at the end of State Council on Saturday. Evelyn holds a special place in SACWA, and I think we all teared up a little when State President Rebecca Maund presented her with this. Evelyn can still be found with all of the lovely volunteers at the Country Cafe amongst other things she does for us.

Our branch was delighted to be able to buy the full set of George the Farmer books for our library for young children to read. Written in SA these books aim to educate our children about where their food comes from. Beautifully written and produced.

Thank you to the SA CWA (Stirling & Districts) for their generous children book donations!

🧶 Let’s Yarn Bomb Uraidla 🧶

Join us on Sunday 7 June from 10am as we help bring colour and warmth to Uraidla’s main street for winter.

Meet Di at the Uraidla Cottage Pharmacy and together we’ll yarn bomb our way along the township before heading to the Uraidla Hotel for brunch.

Di Liebelt — one of our wonderful CWA and community members — has again been the driving force behind this much-loved community initiative and would love your help. ❤️

Come along for a fun morning of community, colour and connection. ❤️

Please RSVP if you’d like to stay for brunch afterwards so we can confirm numbers.

🏡 Meet the Venue
Many visitors know about Mary Walker House, where the majority of our Winter on Dequetteville Artisan Market will be held, but have you discovered its beautiful neighbour?
Standing proudly beside Mary Walker House is our hidden gem, the B&B on Dequetteville — a magnificent heritage building full of charm and character.
On market day, this beautiful venue will be home to our Devonshire Tea and a couple of artisan stalls, offering visitors a warm and welcoming place to relax and enjoy this magnificent heritage setting.
Why not take a moment to step inside, enjoy a warm cuppa and freshly baked scones, and soak up the atmosphere of this wonderful historic building?
We look forward to welcoming you to both venues as we celebrate warmth, community and creativity at Winter on Dequetteville.

History Festival month closed with our Preserving demonstration at State Office, Kent Town on Sunday afternoon. It was a sold out event. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets.
We had such a lovely afternoon demonstrating various preserving techniques and meeting wonderful people who shared the same keen interest we have in preserving the harvests.
Our beautiful team worked tirelessly to preserve pickle and dehydrate and bake before the event so we had a lot of products we could show our guests.
The demonstration was followed by tastings of what we made and of course our scones with home made jams and a cuppa.
We hope we have inspired and encouraged those attending to preserve in some form.
One of our guests broke into a spontaneous rendition of the Greek National anthem with one of our members!
Finally an enormous thank you must go to our whole team who pulled it all together with such care, carting an enormous amount of equipment down from the hills and our homes. A brilliant crew who thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone.
All proceeds from ticket sales go to the Dorothy Dolling Trust to support country children with their study costs.

Ready to go. Our branch donated 20 bags of essential items which were delivered this morning to The Haven at Mt Barker, a regional service for women including those escaping domestic violence.
Beautiful drawstring bags were made by one of our members to include in the packages.
